This History Lecture Series is presented by Mayor Brian Johnson, with support and light refreshments provided by the Kennedale Historical Society. This month's guest lecturers are Professor John R. Lundberg and Journalist Jim Frisinger.
From the days of the Caddo Nation and the Battle of Village Creek to becoming a favorite local swimming and fishing hole, this area has a rich history. It’s hosted Easter egg hunts on Frog Island in the early 1900s and mid-century picnics at Kennedale Mountain. Today, it houses the 58-acre City of Arlington Southwest Nature Preserve.
