Anyone can learn CPR – and everyone should! Sadly, more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur each year in the United States. The more people who are trained in CPR, the more likely it is that lives will be saved. Seventy percent of Americans may feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they either don't know how to administer CPR or their training has significantly lapsed.
This alarming statistic could hit close to home because home is exactly where approximately 75-80% of cardiac arrests occur. Without CPR and defibrillation, brain death begins in just four to five minutes. Effective bystander CPR provided immediately can double or triple a victim’s chances of survival.
