02/17/2021, 1:00 p.m. | Water Utility Notice
**At the time of this posting (1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17), the Kennedale water supply is safe to drink and boiling is not currently needed.** We are aware of the boil water notice issued by Arlington Water Utilities. However, we are not yet sourcing water from Arlington. We will continue to monitor our system and update the public if and when the situation changes.
There are no plans to interrupt water service, but the City of Kennedale is asking customers to limit water usage to only essential purposes. Water utilities across the region are seeing an unprecedented demand on our water distribution system during the past 24 hours. Continued excessive water demand could result in system pressure dropping low enough to require a boil order notice. We need your help to avoid that situation.
While dripping faucets to keep pipes from freezing may be necessary, please delay other water uses such as laundry or dishwashing and aim for short showers as opposed to baths. Additionally, as temperatures rise and potentially frozen pipes begin to thaw, it is important to monitor your home closely for leaks. If you have a water or sewer emergency, please call 817-459-5900.
