Public Works Technicians will be dedicated to performing a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks necessary for the maintenance and repair of city streets, drainage, parks, city facilities, and city rights-of-way. This position will also perform manual labor using a variety of equipment including shovels, rakes, dump trucks, flat beds, tractors, asphalt rollers, crack sealers, mowers, and others as necessary for the maintenance of city facilities, parks, and streets.
Required - High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience in construction trades including work with concrete and asphalt plus a variety of equipment, Class B CDL Texas driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory. The job involves outdoor work, including temperature extremes and heavy lifting. Applicants must have the ability to lift (75 lbs.), push, pull, stand for long periods of time; squat, kneel, reach, and operate equipment necessary for duties listed above.
