The Kennedale Police Department Hiring Process
What are the steps to becoming a Kennedale Police Officer?
The following is an outline of the hiring process for a successful candidate:
STEP 1 – The Applicant Test (Lateral Officers are Exempt from Testing)
STEP 2 – Complete the Police Background Packet:

STEP 3 – Applicant Interview with First Line Supervisors
STEP 4 – Successful Background Investigation
STEP 5 – Conditional Job Offer
STEP 6 – Completion of a Psychological, a Polygraph, and a Medical Examination
STEP 7 – Final Interview with the Chief of Police
After a successful meeting with the Chief, a TCOLE certified candidate is given an appointment date and sworn in.
A non-certified new hire will be given an academy start date with all training paid for by the Kennedale Police Department.
