05/19 - Found Property - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 2:53 p.m. an jail inmate being held on Kennedale and Tarrant County warrants required medical treatment. After being treated at JPS Hospital, the inmate was transferred to the Tarrant County Jail to be held on the higher charge warrant. The inmate's personal property was not taken to the hospital and a family member was contacted to pick it up. The family member agreed but failed to show up. The property was placed in the evidence room for safe keeping until it can be returned to the inmate.

05/20 - Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle - 6300 block of Tealcove Drive: At 1:26 a.m. an officer took a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was taken from a parking lot of an apartment complex. The vehicle, a silver 2001 Toyota Avalon, was taken between 11:30 p.m. and the time of the report.

05/20 - Possession of a Controlled Substance - 1300 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 4:36 p.m. an officer stopped a white van for a traffic violation. The driver, a 27 year old male, was found to have warrants out of Irving and Dallas County. During a subsequent consent search of the vehicle, officers located a baggie of marijuana and a prescription narcotic not prescribed to the driver. The driver was transported to the municipal jail and booked in.

05/21 - Recovered Stolen Vehicle - 7000 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 5:50 a.m. an officer responded to a towing company for a stolen vehicle recovery. The vehicle, a 1997 Toyota Camry, had been towed form an apartment complex in Fort Worth and had the keys still in it. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Haltom City.

05/21 - Burglary of a Building - 300 block of Kennedale New Hope Road: At 8:03 a.m. an officer responded to a complaint of a building burglary. The victim's work vehicle, which was parked in the building, was entered and several items removed. The suspect forcibly entered the building to commit the offense. The victim has a video system, and the suspect is seen on the video entering the building and removing the items. Once the suspect's identity is confirmed, a warrant will be issued.

05/21 - Theft of Service $1,500 to $20,000 - 6800 block of Oak Crest Drive: An officer responded to a report of improperly wired external electrical connections at two businesses. On arrival the officer met with a city inspector and an Oncor representative. Both businesses were found to have bypassed the electric meters and one was possibly obtaining water illegally. The Oncor representative is working with outside authorities to make a case against the businesses but needed a report from Kennedale Police to verify the situation. Neither business met current city codes and the inspector informed them that business would have to cease until the codes are met.

05/23 - Theft of Materials - 600 block of Little School Road: At 1:11 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a copper wire theft. On arrival, the complainant advised that unknown person(s) had entered a cell phone service building and removed copper wiring and several electrical panel boxes. The value of the missing items was set at $4,000.

05/23 - Mentally Disturbed Person - 300 block of 3rd Street: At 5:54 p.m. an officer responded to a disturbance at the city library. On arrival, city staff advised that an employee was assaulted by a known suspect, a 24 year old special needs adult. The suspect apparently arrived at the library upset about a separate matter, and while there became more upset. When a staff member tried to calm her down by taking her in a back room, the suspect pushed the employee over a chair and to the ground. The suspect told responding officers that she had not taken her medications that day. Attempts to contact a family member to take custody of the suspect were unsuccessful. The suspect was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention.

05/24 - Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 - 4300 block of Danny Drive: At 12:42 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a criminal mischief. The victim stated that a known suspect had called him while in his front yard and wanted the victim to "go out" with him. The victim refused and the suspect then threw an object into the windshield of the victim's vehicle. The suspect was gone on the officer's arrival.

05/24 - Criminal Mischief - 4100 block of Eden Road: At 12:26 p.m. an officer met with city and Oncor representatives in regards to illegal electrical connections. Person(s) unknown have been establishing a illegal connection regularly since power had been shut off in mid-2012. Oncor removes the connections each time. Utility losses were estimated at approximately $6,000.

05/25 - Burglary of a Building - 1400 block of Sonoma: At 1:11 a.m. person(s) unknown forcibly entered a model home and activated the alarm system. On arrival officers found the front door open and the dead bolt lying in the floor. The refrigerator was missing but the office equipment appeared undisturbed. The house was re-secured per a company representative until they could respond later in the morning.
