06/23 - Burglary of a Building - 400 block of North Road: At 11:01 a.m. an officer responded to a complaint of a storage shed burglary. Person(s) unknown entered the shed and removed a number of tools valued at over $3000.00. The burglary occurred between June 19 and June 21 of 2013.
06/23 - Found Property - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 12:40 p.m. a citizen reported finding a wallet in a convenience store bathroom. The wallet contained cash and identification of the owner. The reporting officer could not locate a contact number for the owner and the wallet/contents were placed in property and evidence until the owner can be located.
06/25 - Illegal Dumping - 1300 block of Bowman Springs Road: At 12:22 p.m. an officer took a report of illegal dumping. The property owner reported that the debris (tree branches and an old rug) were dumped on her property without her permission.
06/25 - Evading Arrest/Detention - 4300 block of Dick Price Road: At 12:47 p.m. an officer observed a known wanted person at a location on Dick Price Road. The wanted person, a 25 year old male, has a Kennedale warrant for burglary and has fled officers before. The male fled into a nearby wooded area before the officer could catch up to him. A separate warrant will be issued for the evading offense.
06/25 - Overdose - 100 block of Briarwood Road: At 11:41 p.m. officers responded to a report of an unresponsive female. The female had been found by family members after taking an unknown quantity of pills. The female was transported by the Kennedale EMS to Mansfield Methodist Hospital for evaluation and treatment. An emergency mental detention application was completed and turned over to the hospital staff.
06/26 - DWI with Open Container - 100 block of Oakwood Lane: At 1:40 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle pull out from behind a closed building and enter Sublett Road. The officer was aware of several thefts occurring in that area over the last few weeks. Upon stopping the vehicle for an investigation, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was present in the vehicle. A bottle of alcoholic beverage was in plain view in the back floorboard, as was a cup in the console cup holder with the same beverage in it. The driver, a 31 year old male, failed to successfully complete a field sobriety evaluation and was placed under arrest for DWI. The passenger, a 26 year old male, was arrested for Arlington warrants. Both were booked into the municipal jail.
06/26 - Burglary of a Building/Theft $20,000 to $100,000 - 800 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 1:05 p.m. an officer responded to a report of copper wiring being removed from an industrial building. The wiring and damage to the building was estimated at $40,000.00. This offense may be related to a complaint last week involving persons stripping copper wire at a nearby mobile home park.
06/26 - Theft $50 to $500 - 1200 block of Little School Road: At 2:55 p.m. an officer responded to a theft report at Game Stop. The clerk reported that a male suspect entered the store and cut a wire securing an electronic device. The male then fled the scene in an older model red sports car with a spoiler. The device was valued at $324.74.
06/26 Possession of Marijuana - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 6:56 p.m. an officer was alerted by an employee of a convenience store that a possible gas theft was in progress. The officer observed the vehicle in question occupied by three males and parked at a gas pump. As the officer watched the vehicle, it pulled to the front entrance of the store and the males began acting strangely, entering, leaving, and re-entering the store. A customer approached the officer and stated that there was a disturbance inside the store over paying for gas. The officer, along with a second officer, entered the store and contacted the vehicle driver. The driver did not have money to pay for the gas but stated that his father was on they way to pay for it. A check of the driver indicated active warrants for his arrest out of Forest Hill and Fort Worth. A second occupant was located outside of the store on the back part of the property. He gave a false name to the officer but identification was located with his actual information. The second male was arrested for an active warrant out of Tarrant County. During the investigation, the officers discovered that the vehicle also contained a baggie of marijuana, which the vehicle owner acknowledged knowing about. Both suspects were transported to jail for booking. The third male was released at the scene with no charges filed.
06/28 - Burglary of a Building - 500 block of Oak Forest Court: At 7:34 a.m. an officer took a report of a stolen residential door. Person(s) unknown entered a house under construction during the night and removed the door from its hinges. The house was not secured at the time.
06/28 - Burglary of a Building/Theft $20,000 to $100,000 - 800 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 8:11 a.m. officers responded to a suspicious activity report in the mobile home park. On arrival the officers observed a male stripping copper wire in the yard of a residence. This was the same residence that officers responded to the week before on a complaint of persons stripping copper wire in the yard. The male stated that he was stripping the wire for a friend who was asleep in the residence. The officers located the friend and identified him as a known Kennedale offender. One of the officers had taken a burglary report earlier in the week from a location next to the park. In that report the building owner reported that the copper wiring had been removed from the building. The building owner responded and reported that there was fresh damage and theft that had occurred since the report. The known offender was arrested for the burglary and thefts.
06/28 - Credit/Debit Card Abuse - 1200 block of Little School Road: At 12:39 p.m. an officer responded to a convenience store on a complaint of Credit/Debit Card Abuse. The male victim reported that his vehicle was burglarized in Arlington at an apartment off of Treepoint Lane. The suspect used his Visa debit card to purchase items at the store. A video of the suspect was provided to police.
