09/29 - Possession of Controlled Substance - 900 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 12:23 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After obtaining identifying information on the 26 year old male driver and his 19 year female passenger, it was determined that both had outstanding warrants. The male was wanted for burglary and the female for theft. During the interview the driver was extremely nervous and appeared to be trying to conceal something between his seat and the console. After placing the driver under arrest for the burglary warrant, the officer located a baggie of methamphetamine between the seat and console. The driver was charged with the controlled substance. The female was found to be in possession of a meth pipe, and was arrested for the theft warrant and the paraphernalia (pipe). Both subjects were taken to the municipal jail for booking.
10/01 - Burglary - 1000 block of Chandler Court: At 7:18 a.m. an officer responded to a burglary report. The victim stated that person(s) unknown had entered her garage during the overnight hours and removed her room mate's wallet from one of the two vehicles inside. While reporting the offense, a male drove up to the residence and returned the wallet. He stated that he had found the wallet while walking along Little Road. All items were left in the wallet except for credit cards, which were missing. The room mate had already left for work and will contact police on her return.
10/02 - DWI - 500 block of Dick Price Road: At 11:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to an accident on Dick Price Road. The single vehicle collision involved no injuries. Upon arrival officers contacted an uninvolved witness and the 60 year old vehicle operator. The operator appeared to be intoxicated and had an open alcohol container in his vehicle. He was unable to pass a field sobriety assessment. The driver was detained and transported to the Mansfield Law Enforcement Center for a breath test. The test revealed a result of 0.12 BAC. The driver was remanded to the custody of Mansfield personnel for booking.
10/03 - Evading Arrest or Detention - 5700 block of I-20: Shortly after 10:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to assist Arlington Police in locating a subject on I-20. The officers located the male, who ran from them out into the traffic lanes. While attempting to get the male stopped one of the officers was struck by a passing vehicle. The officer required transport to the hospital for minor injuries but the male was located and secured. The male was determined to be in some type of mentally distressed state and was transported to JPS for mental evaluation. The evading detention charge is pending the evaluation.
