10/27 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 1000 block of Little School Road: At 4:10 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview the officer observed a plastic bag sticking out of the driver's wallet. The bag contained a rolled-up $20 bill with cocaine residue inside of it. A subsequent search of the vehicle for more narcotics was negative. The driver was cited for the paraphernalia and released. The bill was placed in evidence.
10/27 - Vehicle Burglary - 400 block of Coker Valley: At 12:07 p.m. an officer responded to a burglary report. The victim reported that his credit card company had contacted him about several transactions. The victim advised that the transactions were not his or his wife's and realized that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle overnight. The vehicle had been left unlocked and person(s) unknown removed the wallet and contents. Several credit card transactions were made at a convenience store in Arlington that morning. Also taken in the burglary were a $212.00 pair of sunglasses and a $100.00 GPS system. While out with this report, the officer was approached by a second resident to report another burglary of an unlocked vehicle in the same block. The only item taken was a custom made blanket valued at $10.00.
10/27 - Possession of Controlled Substance - 100 block of Kenny Street: At 4:21 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview, the officer located a narcotics pipe and a baggie of methamphetamine on the 46 year old male's person. His 43 year old female passenger was in possession of Xanax on her person. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed the two were in possession of 6.9 grams of methamphetamine as well as numerous quantities of pills, including Xanax, Hydrocodone, and Diazepam. A bottle of morphine sulfate and needles for injecting narcotics were also found. Both persons were arrested for the narcotics and transported to Mansfield for booking. All narcotics were seized and placed in evidence.
10/27 - Vehicle Burglary - 800 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 4:41 p.m. an officer responded to a burglary complaint. The victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered his vehicle and removed his property. The victim stated that the vehicle had been locked but no forced entry was observed. Removed from the vehicle were numerous items of golf equipment and clothing valued at $1,821.00.
10/28 - Failure to Register (Sex Offender) - 100 block of Brown Street: On 10/25/2013 a detective was contacted by Fort Worth police to report that they had been notified of a sex offender leaving a halfway house in their city and moving to Kennedale. The sex offender was convicted of indecency with a child and required to register his address for life. Fort Worth police stated that the offender had moved to Kennedale on Brown Street. The detective conducted a series of follow-up inquiries with the court as well as the district attorney, and was able to obtain an arrest warrant on 10/31/2013. The warrant was served by Kennedale patrol officers that afternoon and the offender was transported to jail for booking.
10/28 - Burglary - 1500 block of Gilman Road: At 2:01 p.m. an officer responded to a burglary report. The victim reported that person(s) unknown entered his vacant home and removed copper wiring. The value of the damage and wiring were estimated at $10,000.00.
10/28 - Vehicle Burglary - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:00 p.m. a victim reported the burglary of a vehicle in the 400 block of Coker Valley. The victim came to the police department to make the report. Person(s) unknown entered the vehicle and removed a GPS unit along with medical equipment. All items were valued at $400.00. The offense occurred two days earlier on the 26th.
10/28 - Theft $50 to $500 - 100 block of Dick Price Road: At 7:35 p.m. a female victim reported to police that her mother's boyfriend, a 30 year old male, had stolen her wallet. The boyfriend had been riding in the victim's vehicle with the victim, her 40 year old mother, and the suspect. As they got out of the vehicle, the suspect grabbed the victim's wallet from the console and ran away. He ran into the home he shares with the victim's mother. The suspect ran out of the home carrying a bag and was stopped by officers. He consented to a search but the wallet was not located. He was transported back to the house. The victim's mother refused to allow officers to search the residence for the wallet. The mother was wanted on a narcotics warrant from Dallas County and was arrested. She was transported to Mansfield for booking. The wallet was not located.
10/28 - Emotionally Disturbed Person - 700 block of Crestview Drive: At 9:28 p.m. an officer responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed person creating a disturbance. On arrival the officer located a 25 year old female who was upset and verbally abusing family members. The female has been violent to both family members and others in the recent past. Due to the female's mental state she was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention.
10/29 - Vehicle Theft - 700 block of Crestview Drive: At 8:16 a.m. an officer took a report of a stolen truck. The vehicle was broken into and taken overnight. The vehicle was a black primer Chevrolet extended cab truck.
10/29 - Emotionally Disturbed Person - 900 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 2:27 p.m. officers responded to a complaint of an emotionally disturbed person creating a disturbance. The subject, 22 year old male, was threatening violence toward care givers and would not calm down when officers arrived. This male has a history of violent threats and actions towards his care givers and others. The officers took the subject into custody for transport to JPS Hospital.
10/30 - Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 - 1500 block of Gilman Road: At 9:20 a.m. a victim reported that his vacant house had been broken into. Unknown person(s) damaged the home but the wiring was gone from prior burglaries at the home.
10/31 - Assault by Contact - 200 block of Pine Meadows: At 8:07 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A 24 year old female and her 27 year old boyfriend had been in an argument when the female struck him in the leg. The female was issued a citation for assault by contact.
11/01 - Aggravated Assault (Family Member) - 200 block of Kenny Street: At 5:10 a.m. a 29 year old male victim reported that he was assaulted by his girlfriend. The suspect assaulted him with her hands and a knife. The victim's story was corroborated by an 11 year old child living at the residence. The female suspect was arrested for family violence and transported to Mansfield for booking.
11/01 - Hit and Run Accident - 100 block of Dick Price Road: At 12:10 p.m. an officer took a report of a damaged mailbox. The victim stated that his mailbox was damaged by a truck pulling a trailer. The victim saw the truck but did not get any identifying information.
11/01 - Assault by Contact - 200 block of Kennedale New Hope Road: At 8:56 p.m. a 43 year old victim reported that she was assaulted by her 36 year old boyfriend. During an argument the suspect shoved the victim in the chest. The victim stated she was contacting police and the suspect came toward her again. The suspect then got into a vehicle and left. The suspect was not present when the officers arrived.
11/01 - Public Intoxication - 6800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue: At 9:38 p.m. an officer responded to a disturbance. The officer observed a 22 year old male walking in the middle of the street and screaming. The male was intoxicated and emotionally distraught over family issues. The male was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported to Mansfield for booking.
