01/19 - Assault by Contact - 1100 block of Parkview Terrace: At 12:02 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance. The call involved a 29 year old male (who was possibly intoxicated on medications) making threats toward family members. During the disturbance the male's 35 year old brother hit him in the face with a fist. The first male was obviously upset and agreed to leave at the father's insistence. The brother was issued a citation for assault by contact.
01/20 - Theft $1,500 to $20,000 - 5700 block of I-20 Service Road: At 9:28 p.m. an officer responded to a report of stolen batteries at a cell phone tower facility. Person(s) unknown accessed the location and removed the batteries using a key especially designed to open the protective cabinets. The value of the batteries was placed at $16,000.00.
01/21 - Recovered Stolen Vehicle - 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 11:56 p.m. an officer observed a 1990 Chevrolet truck parked at a car wash. No one was around the vehicle and a check of the license plate number showed it to be stolen out of Arlington. The vehicle was confirmed stolen by Arlington P.D. and was impounded until the owner could be notified to pick it up.
01/22 - Theft Under $50 - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 7:28 p.m. a clerk reported to officers that two different beer thefts had occurred at the business. The first occurred at 7:02 p.m. when a male walked in to the store and removed three cases of beer. As he was walking out, the male was confronted by a male customer, who was able to retrieve one of the cases. The second theft occurred at 7:23 pm. and was similar to the first. This time the clerk was able to obtain a license plate number. Both thefts were caught on video.
01/23 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 7000 block of I-20 Service Road: At 12:00 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer smelled the odor of burned marijuana as he approached the car. The 22 year old driver stated that he and his 20 year old passenger had recently smoked marijuana in the vehicle. The driver admitted to possessing drug paraphernalia which the officer recovered and placed in evidence. The driver was cited and released.
01/23 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 7200 block of I-20 Service Road: At 12:15 p.m. an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked on the shoulder of the roadway. As he approached the vehicle the officer observed the driver, a 21 year old male, passed out in the vehicle. The driver had a soft drink can, used to smoke narcotics, with narcotics residue still in it. He was charged with the paraphernalia.
01/23 - Burglary - 100 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 8:29 a.m. a victim reported to police that her business had been broken into overnight. Person(s) unknown threw a rock through the front door glass to enter the building and left through the back door. A small amount of change was taken but nothing else appeared to be missing.
01/24 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:30 p.m. a victim reported to police that his debit card number had been stolen. Person(s) unknown used the number to purchased what appeared to be college textbooks on-line.
01/24 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: At 9:54 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. All three of the occupants, two males and a female, were wanted by various agencies for misdemeanor warrants. The female's purse contained paraphernalia commonly used to smoke and inject methamphetamine. She was cited for the contraband and it was seized as evidence.
01/25 - Aggravated Robbery - 6300 block of Tealcove Drive: At 9:47 a.m. a officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex. On arrival officers made contact with a 23 year old male who stated that his cell phone had been taken by several males that he knew only by first names. The victim stated that one of the suspects took his cell phone and wouldn't give it back. The victim demanded the phone and the male raised his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband. The suspects then took of running on foot. The victim gave a written statement.
01/25 - Found Property - 800 block of Woodland Court: At 6:03 p.m. a caller reported that her juvenile daughter had found a wallet in the yard of their home. The wallet belonged to a neighbor who couldn't be contacted. The wallet was placed in property and evidence until the owner can claim it.
