03/31 - Theft $500 to $1,500 - 1000 block of Swiney Hiett Road: At 5:28 p.m. an officer took a report of the theft of two wicker rocker chairs from a front porch. Person(s) unknown removed the chairs, valued at $500.00, during the overnight hours.
04/01 - Abandoned/Found Property - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 12:45 p.m. an officer received a counterfeit $10 bill from a citizen. The bill was received at a local convenience store. The bill was placed in evidence until the Secret Service can be notified.
04/02 - Possession of Marijuana - 400 block of Dick Price Road: At 6:20 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. During the stop the driver, a 22 year old male, was nervous and appeared to be attempting to conceal something in the vehicle. The officer obtained a consent to search the vehicle and located a plastic baggie of marijuana concealed inside of an opened soft drink can. The driver was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was booked into the Mansfield jail and the drug was entered into evidence.
04/03 - Criminal Mischief Under $50 - 500 block of Gail Drive: At 12:15 p.m. an officer took a report of criminal mischief. Person(s) unknown cut through a chain link fence that surrounds a city water tower and pump facility. No other damage was detected and no property was missing.
04-03 - Forgery and Possession of a Controlled Substance - 200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:40 p.m. officers were called to the Wells Fargo bank on a forgery in progress. The suspect, a 37 year old female, was leaving as the officers arrived. She was stopped across the street from the bank and contacted. The suspect had driven off without collecting her identification or the check. After verifying that the check was a forgery, and discovering that the suspect had possibly been passing other forged checks through the bank ATM, the suspect was placed under arrest. During the vehicle inventory officers located more blank checks identical to the one that was left at the bank. Officers also located methamphetamine and a pipe use to smoke the drug. The female was transported to the Mansfield jail for booking.
04/03 - Emergency Mental Detention - 300 block of S. Dick Price Road: At 9:15 p.m. officers were called to a disturbance. The disturbance was between a 17 year old male and his parents over a personal issue. The male became upset and attempted to leave the property. The father tried to prevent him from leaving due to his state of mind. During the confrontation the 17 year old male ran over the father's foot and almost struck the mother with the vehicle. Due to the male's angry state of mind, he was transported to JPS for an emergency detention and evaluation.
04/05 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: At 2:43 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, a 30 year old female, the officer detected an odor of marijuana from inside of the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the stop. None of the drug was found in the vehicle but there were items related to the use of marijuana. The officer also located a number of identifying items as well as checks and a debit card belonging to a number of individuals, none of which were the driver. She stated that a number of people operate the car during the week. She claimed no knowledge of the other items. All of the items were seized to be held for the proper owners since the car did not register to the driver. She was cited for the paraphernalia and released.
04/05 - Child Endangerment - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:56 p.m. an 8 year old male was located at the Art in the Park event. The child stated that he was attending the event with his 10 year old sister but could not locate her. The sister was eventually located and their mother called to pick up both children.
