05/18 - Assault - 100 block of Peachtree Court: At 11:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. A 23 year old pregnant female victim advised that her boyfriend/suspect had assaulted her and tried to choke her during a disagreement. The suspect, a 25 year old male, had been drinking heavily before the argument and wanted to leave the residence in his vehicle, which is what caused the disagreement. The suspect had left before officers arrived.
05/18 - Theft $1,500 to $20,000 - 800 block of Whitley Court: At 1:26 p.m. a victim reported to police that her $4,000.00 engagement ring was stolen the night before. The victim stated that while attending a graduation party at a friend's house, she went into an upstairs bathroom. While there she took off her ring and set it on the vanity. She realized a half hour later that she was missing the ring. She went back to the bathroom but could not find the ring. There were numerous people coming and going during the party.
05/18 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 900 block of Shady Oaks Drive: At 6:42 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of loud music coming from a parked vehicle in a neighborhood. The officers made contact with the three vehicle occupants, an 18 and 17 year old male as well as a 15 year old female. The vehicle smelled of marijuana. Narcotics paraphernalia, including a marijuana pipe, was visible inside of the vehicle. The items were seized as evidence and the vehicle operator, who stated the items were his, was cited.
05/19 - Theft $1,500 to $20,000 - 300 block of New Hope Road: At 8:13 a.m. an officer received a report of a stolen radiator. The radiator was removed from a piece of construction equipment during the overnight hours of May 16th/17th. The radiator was valued at $2000.00.
05/19 - Emotionally Disturbed Person - 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 7:46 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a female threatening to harm herself. On arrival the female and her husband had both been drinking heavily. The female stated that she has had thoughts of suicide and wanted to harm herself. She was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention.
05/20 - Theft $1,500 to $20,000 - 800 block of Woodland Court: At 3:38 p.m. a victim reported to police that her 2009 Hyundai was stolen by a known suspect. The suspect had been temporarily staying with the victim and took the car without her permission. Attempts to locate the suspect at his place of employment were unsuccessful. The vehicle was valued at $7,825.00.
05/20 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Member) - 100 block of Dick Price Road: At 10:50 p.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. On arrival the officers met with a 57 year old male and a 47 year old female. The male stated that the female had come to the home that evening and wanted to stay. They had apparently been arguing most of the evening and the male stated that the female fell as she tried to leave the residence. The female told officers that the male had struck her three times with a closed fist as well as tried to choke her. The female had injuries consistent with her statement. The male became evasive and argumentative during questioning. After receiving witness statements, officers arrested the male for assault bodily injury to a family member. Officers were aware of an ongoing relationship between the suspect and the victim from previous calls at the residence.
05/23 - Burglary - 1000 block of Harrison Drive: At 4:08 p.m. a victim reported to officers that her home was burglarized while she was at work. Suspect(s) unknown kicked open the front door of the residence and removed electronics and jewelry. The items were valued at $1,390.00.
05/23 - Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 - 300 block of Spring Branch Lane: At 8:34 p.m. a victim reported that the back door of her home had been kicked in earlier in the day. Nothing was missing from the home.
05/24 - Assault - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 11:20 p.m. officers observed a disturbance at a business parking area. Contact was made with a 53 year old male and a 52 year old female. The male stated that he and the female, his ex-wife, had been out playing bingo. They stopped for gas and the ex-wife wanted the male to come home with her. He lives in a separate residence. During the argument the male stated that pushed the female away from him. Witnesses reported that the male also struck the female. The female did not report this and showed no injuries or marks. The male was cited for simple assault and the two went to their separate residences.
