06/29 - Accident - 900 block of Wildcat Way: At 2:59 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle while parked in a parking lot. The victim had legally parked his 2012 BMW in a parking spot while attending a dance competition. When he tried to drive his vehicle away it would not operate properly and he discovered damage to the front tire and wheel. The vehicle was towed.
06/30 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 300 block of Dick Price Road: At 8:17 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a warrant investigation. The driver, a 27 year old male, was wanted on active traffic warrants out of Kennedale. He was placed under arrest for transport to the Mansfield jail. He was also discovered to be in possession of drug paraphernalia including a marijuana pipe. The paraphernalia was seized as evidence and the suspect was transported for booking.
06/30 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Items - 1000 block of Chandler Street: At 12:39 p.m. a victim turned in an identity theft packet to police. She advised that her identity had been stolen by a former roommate. She did not have a current address for the suspect.
07/01 - Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle - 800 block of Woodland Court: At 9:30 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated that her 2000 Lexus had been stolen from the driveway of her home during the overnight hours.
07/03 - Property Damage - 300 block of Bowles Court: An officer responded to a complaint about a neighbor cutting through the cable feed that supplies the neighborhood with phone and Internet access. The neighbor was attempting to clear an overgrown area behind the neighborhood when his mower cut through an AT&T cable that was not buried underground. The complainant wanted the incident documented.
07/04 - DWI - 1200 block of Little School Road: At 3:20 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle stopped in a store parking area with the lights on and the engine running. A male was asleep inside the vehicle and smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage. The male was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. He was taken to Mansfield where a mandatory blood draw was conducted. He was booked into jail.
07/04 - Credit/Debit Card Abuse - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:28 p.m. a victim reported that a former employee of his company had taken several company credit cards and PINs for current employees. The suspect was using the cards and PINs to purchase fuel at various location in the Metroplex, including Kennedale.
07/04 - Theft Under $50 - 300 block of Hilltop Drive: At 7:42 p.m. a victim reported that an American flag and pole were removed from her yard. The flag belongs to the Kennedale Rotary Club and was placed in the yard for the July 4th holiday.
07/04 - Evading Arrest or Detention - Vehicle - 6500 block of I-20: At 9:00 p.m. an officer observed a white van commit a traffic violation. The officer turned around to stop the vehicle for the violation when the van driver ran the traffic light and accelerated onto the access road to I-20. The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle but traffic slowed his progress. As the officer attempted to catch up to the van, the driver drove onto the embankment and then back onto the access road. The van then entered the I-20 access ramp to get on to the freeway. The van again attempted to drive onto the embankment, this time to exit the freeway. The van disappeared into a low area. The officer finally caught up to the van and observed it had collided with a concrete drainage culvert. The driver of the van, a 50 to 60 year old male with no identification, was critically injured and was transported to MCA hospital. He was later pronounced deceased. The van was determined to be stolen out of Fort Worth on July 2, 2014.
07/05 - Found Property - 6800 block of Oakcrest Drive: At 2:18 a.m. an officer stopped to check two suspicious males at a residence. The males were standing in the driveway next to a vehicle with two females inside of it. None of the four lived at the residence and stated that they were visiting the resident. The four advised they live in Mansfield. Found on the trunk of the vehicle was a wallet containing personal items such as checks, drivers licenses, and Social Security cards. None of the items were in the name of any of the four and they denied knowing anything about it. The wallet and contents were later determined to be stolen in a burglary in Mansfield. All items were seized to be held for the victims.
07/05 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Member) - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:20 p.m. officers responded to a report of an domestic assault. The 23 year old pregnant female victim reported that she and her 30 year old boyfriend had been arguing when she attempted to leave. During the altercation the suspect struck the victim numerous times before leaving the scene. The victim gave a written statement to police. A warrant will be issued for the suspect.
