07/06 - Death Investigation - 1200 block of Elmbrook Drive: At 9:41 a.m. officers responded to a death report. The reporting person stated that her father, age 64, was in hospice care with lung cancer. He was found shortly after 9:20 a.m. in an unresponsive state, at which time she notified 911. Officers released the scene to hospice workers.

07/06 - Assault Bodily Injury - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:58 p.m. a victim reported to police that he had been playing an organized soccer game at an indoor arena when he got into an altercation with an opposing team player. The suspect struck the victim several times during the incident, which caused visible injuries. The suspect was gone from the premises before the officer arrived. A report was taken for a warrant to be issued. The victim and several witnesses filled out statements. A video of the incident was made for the investigation.

07/07 - Recovered Stolen Vehicle - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 2:00 p.m. an officer responded to a report of an abandoned gray Chevrolet Cobalt on private property. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Dallas and was impounded as evidence.

07/07 - Animal Bite - 1400 block of Gilman Road: At 7:00 p.m. officers responded to a dog bite complaint. The victim, a 15 year old female, was running on the road with a group of people when a pit bull ran up and bit her in the right thigh. The dog was located at a residence, where the home owner stated that the animal was a stray that she had taken in several months earlier. The animal had no shot records or registration. The owner was cited for dog at large and no proof of rabies vaccination. The victim was treated and released by a local clinic.

07/08 - Vehicle Burglary - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:53 p.m. a victim reported the theft of two batteries from construction equipment. The property was valued at $600.00.

07/08 - Credit/Debit Card Abuse - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 7:05 p.m. a victim reported that she left or dropped her credit card at a local store in another city. When she realized the card was missing she checked her account. There were several unauthorized charges to the account in various cities. She was making a report in each city for her credit card company.

07/09 - Deadly Conduct (Discharge Firearm) - 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 11:28 p.m. officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving on the complainant's property and spinning "donuts." Officers located the vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, several blocks away with gunshot damage to the right side. The Jeep driver stated that he pulled into the property to turn around when the property owner came outside with a handgun. The property owner fired several shots at the vehicle, damaging a fender and flattening a rear tire. No evidence was found to indicate the vehicle was spinning "donuts" on the property. The property owner was arrested for deadly conduct.

07/10 - Damaged Property - 400 block of Susan Drive: At 12:08 a.m. a victim reported to officers that her front door was pried open. Nothing was missing from the home except food stuffs and personal items that belonged to her son and his girlfriend. The victim stated that the three had been living together and they had a disagreement. The son and girlfriend decided to move out. They came while the victim was not at home and allegedly pried open the door to retrieve their personal belongings. A report was created for documentation purposes.

07/10 - Burglary - 500 block of N. Little School Road: At 3:46 p.m. a victim reported to police that her late father's home had been burglarized. Someone entered the property and removed a 1996 GMC Suburban and a riding lawn mower. A safe was removed from the house. A local suspect was named by the victim because the suspect had stolen from the residence before.

07/10 - Found Property - 400 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:30 p.m. a complainant reported to police that she accidentally left her wallet on the counter of a local business. When she contacted the business the next day, she was told that they could not find the wallet being taken on their video system. The wallet contained a credit card, drivers license, and $705.00 cash.

07/11 - Theft $50 to $1,500 - 400 block of Susan Drive: At 1:05 a.m. a victim reported that her home had been entered and property was stolen. This may be an on-going family dispute. The victim has had issues with her son entering the property, and a neighbor saw him and his girlfriend at the home earlier in the day. Lawn care equipment and food were taken.

07/11 - Found Property - 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 8:00 a.m. a city employee found an abandoned boy's bicycle in Sonora Park. The bike was removed and placed in property/evidence until claimed.

07/11 - Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 - 6700 block of Oakcrest Drive: At 3:01 p.m. a victim reported to officers that his residence mailbox was damaged by unknown person(s). The damage was valued at $300.00.

07/12 - DWI - 5100 block of Ridge Point Drive: At 11:50 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety test. He was arrested and consented to a blood draw. The vehicle was released to his wife, who was in the vehicle as a passenger but was not impaired.
