[ARCHIVED] Incident Reports

07/28 - Fail to Identify (Fugitive) - 6800 block of Oak Crest Drive: At 12:28 p.m. an officer observed a male attempting to open a locked vehicle in front of a residence. Upon contacting the male, the officer asked why he was trying to enter the vehicle. The male stated that he was opening the car for a friend who was not on the property. The male identified himself and gave a separate name for the friend. The male then walked into the residence before the officer could approach him. The homeowner came out to inquire what was happening. When asked what the name of the other male was, the homeowner gave the name that the previous male (suspect) had said was his friend. A warrant check revealed that the male was wanted out of Mansfield P.D. for three misdemeanor warrants. The homeowner stated that the suspect would not come out as he did not want to be arrested. The homeowner also refused to allow officers access to the home to take the suspect into custody. It is believed that the suspect lied to prevent officers from making an arrest on the warrants, of which he was aware. A warrant will be issued for the suspect.

07/29 - Theft Under $50 - 200 block of Pine Meadows Drive: At 9:26 a.m. an officer responded to a reported criminal mischief. A homeowner returned from a trip to find that the ignition on his 1980 Yamaha motorcycle had been damaged. Person(s) unknown also removed the license plate from the vehicle. No suspects were listed.

07/31 - Disturbance - 300 block of New Hope Road: Officers responded to a report of an unknown disturbance. On arrival, the resident stated that she had been in a physical altercation with a neighbor. Neither party had any injuries and neither wanted to file charges.

08/01 - Aggravated Assault (Firearm) - 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 11:05 p.m. officers responded to a reported shooting. On arrival the officers met with a male resident (suspect) who stated that his former girlfriend had come over to retrieve some belongings. The suspect said that he observed a male waiting outside of the home for the female. The suspect reportedly had been threatened by the male in the past and didn't want him on the property. The suspect retrieved a 9mm handgun and went outside to tell the male to leave. The male refused and the suspect stated that he fired a warning shot into the ground. The male stated that the round was actually fired at him. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was in possession of a large sum of large denomination bills wrapped in a rubber band as well as multiple handguns. The suspect also had a history of drug use. He stated that the money was earned as a self-employed contractor but could not provide information on jobs he had worked on. The resident's vehicle contained two lock boxes. The resident opened one of the boxes, which contained several handguns. The second box he stated was a friend's and he couldn't open. Believing that the money and locked box could be related to drug transactions, a K9 officer was called. The dog alerted to the locked box twice. On the key ring to the vehicle was a key that appeared to be the one for the lock box. All items were seized pending issuance of a search warrant. The resident was arrested and charged for the assault and was booked into the Mansfield jail.

08/01 - Burglary - 400 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 6:53 p.m. an officer received a report of a burglary. Person(s) unknown entered a residence by breaking a window in the back door. Taken were clothing, a TV, and a baby crib, all valued at $719.99.
