08/26 - Possession of Dangerous Drug- 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 2:08 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle contained four individuals. During the interview officers located a small bag that contained a substance believed to be methamphetamine. None of the occupants claimed ownership of the bag. The substance was seized for testing and the occupants released pending further investigation.
08/28 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information - 1200 block of N. Little School Road: At 9:31 a.m. an officer received a report of identity theft from a male victim. The victim stated that an unknown male had used the victim's identifying information to purchase over $3,000.00 worth of phones and related items at a T Mobile store. T Mobile's fraud unit had already been notified. The victim was provided with an identity theft packet.
08/29 - Burglary - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:37 p.m. officers responded to a burglary in progress complaint. on arrival, the officers located a gray Cadillac in front of the residence. The vehicle's engine was running and there was no one around the vehicle. A male suspect was located in back of the residence and was detained for investigation. The suspect stated that another male was with him but did not know where he had gone. The suspect stated that the resident allegedly owed the missing suspect money for an earlier drug transaction. They had come to the residence to collect. The residence owner/victim was contacted and responded to the location. The residence had been illegally entered by the two males and property removed. It was located outside of the residence. An investigative sweep of the vehicle revealed a .40 caliber handgun and marijuana in plain view of the officers. The suspect refused to identify his accomplice except by a first name. The victim claimed to not know either of the suspects. The suspect was transported to the Mansfield jail for booking. The marijuana and the handgun/ammunition were placed into evidence. The property was returned to the victim.
08/29 - Evading Arrest or Detention - 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: At 5:24 p.m. an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a gray 1991 Chevrolet Caprice at Kennedale Parkway and I-20. The vehicle refused to stop and drove into Forest Hill in an attempt to evade the stop. The officer followed the vehicle until it stopped several minutes later. The driver and two occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The officer pursued the driver/suspect and took him into custody. Forest Hill officers were able to apprehend the other two males. The suspect claimed that the two male passengers had forced him at gun point to evade the police unit. The other two males stated this was not true and no handgun was located in the vehicle. The back seat passenger was in possession of a methamphetamine pipe and was cited for the paraphernalia. He was released. The driver, who has previous convictions for Evading Arrest or Detention, was transported to the Mansfield jail for booking.
08/30 - Possession of Dangerous Drug - 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 10:35 p.m. an officer responded to a disturbance at a convenience store. On arrival the officer observed a female who appeared to be intoxicated and standing at the counter. The female stated that she had taken some Xanax but had not been drinking alcohol, which the officer detected on her breath. The female found a ride to leave and was in the back seat of the vehicle when it stopped in the driveway of the store. The driver exited and started picking up items that the female had thrown out of the car. As the officer approached to make sure all was okay the female opened the back door and fell out onto the pavement. She was arrested for public intoxication. During a search of the suspect incident to arrest, the officer located several pills believed to be Xanax. No prescription was found. The female was transported to the Mansfield jail and booked in.
08/31 - Possession of Dangerous Drug - 4500 block of Kennedale New Hope Road: At 10:13 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a report of a DWI driver. The vehicle in question had struck a city street sign and continued on. A witness was following the vehicle as it drove south on New Hope Road. The officer was able to overtake the vehicle and get it stopped. The driver, a 31 year old male, was obviously intoxicated and appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. During the investigation the suspect was found in possession of several pills that appeared to be muscle relaxers. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Mansfield jail for booking.
