10/19 - DWI - 200 block of Pine Meadows: At 12:41 p.m. an officer responded to a non-injury traffic accident. On arrival, the reporting person stated that her neighbor had backed out of the driveway across the street and struck the reporting person's vehicle. The neighbor/suspect, a 37 year old female, was still sitting in the vehicle, which was parked sideways in the street. The suspect smelled of alcoholic beverage and appeared to be under the influence. During the interview the suspect admitted to drinking and using a narcotic within the last few hours. The suspect was unable to satisfactorily complete a field sobriety assessment. She was arrested and taken to the Mansfield jail for a breath test. The suspect's breath specimen was in excess of .21%BAC. She was booked into jail.
10/20 - Emotionally Disturbed Person - 5700 block of E. I-20: At 8:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to an emotionally disturbed person. The call had originated through the Suicide Prevention Helpline, stating that a 33 year old male had threatened to harm himself. On arrival the officer located the male in his normal work area. The officers removed a large knife from the male and secured him. The male stated that he had been having a number of personal problems and had become suicidal. He had contacted MHMR about getting help. The male was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
10/21 - Stolen Vehicle Recovery - 1000 block of Bowman Springs Road: At 1:30 a.m. an officer observed an abandoned vehicle parked in the roadway. A license plate check indicated the vehicle to be stolen from Grand Prairie. The vehicle was impounded to be held for the owner.
10/22 - Evading Arrest - 400 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:41 a.m. an officer observed a 30 year old male walking in an area where a number of burglaries have occurred. The male was talking loudly to himself and failed to heed any directions given by the officer. The officer had to pursue the male on foot in order to gain compliance with instructions given. The male was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants from other cities and was taken into custody for transport to the Mansfield jail. He was also charged with resisting arrest or detention for failing to comply with the officer, and for physically resisting attempts to take him into custody.
10/22 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 500 block of Coker Valley Drive: At 10:19 a.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. On arrival the victim, a 54 year old female, stated that her 34 year old son had assaulted her by pushing her down twice, once over a child gate. The suspect also pushed the victim into a bed frame, causing her to strike her head. The victim had visible injuries from the assault. The suspect, who had left the scene before officers arrived, was located at a CVS in Arlington by Arlington police officers. He was escorted back to the scene where he was arrested for the assault as well as outstanding warrants from another jurisdiction.
10/22 - Theft $50 to $500 - 900 block of Wildcat Way: At 7:28 p.m. an officer received a report of a stolen cell phone. The victim reported that the phone was left unsecured with some equipment during an athletic workout. The phone was taken during that time. The phone tracker was used but the phone was not located; a possible suspect was. The phone case also contained a debit card that was used for several purchases locally.
10/24 - DWI - 5400 block of Little School Road: At 2:33 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, a 31 year old female, stated that she had been drinking but was not intoxicated. The driver failed to successfully perform a sobriety assessment and was transported to Mansfield for a breath test. The driver's blood alcohol level was higher than .08% and she was charged with DWI.
10/24 - Criminal Mischief $500 to $1,500 - 1100 block of Little School Road: At 10:40 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a criminal mischief. Unknown person(s) struck and damaged a stone and pipe fence on the victim's property. A license plate returning to a Forest Hill address was found in the debris. A check of the residence did not show the registered vehicle to be present.
10/24 - Theft $20,000 to $100,000 - 1200 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:40 a.m. an officer received a report of a theft. The victim reported that several thefts had been discovered through an audit process. A former office manager appeared to have been defrauding the business using fictitious payroll checks and unauthorized charges to company credit cards. The manager left abruptly in June of 2014 and has not been back to work since.
