12/01 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information - 5200 block of S.E. Loop 820: At 5:15 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle was occupied by two adult males and one adult female. During the interview it was determined that the male passenger was in possession of a Texas operators license that belonged to a male not in the vehicle. Officers were able to contact the owner of the license, who stated that it was an old one that had been replaced. The old license had been thrown into the trash. The licensee did not know any of the persons in the vehicle. The vehicle passenger was placed under arrest for the unauthorized possession of the license and transported to jail for booking.
12/02 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Member) - 600 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:05 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. The disturbance was between a 41 year old father and his 22 year old son. During the disturbance, caused by the father's insistence that the son look for employment, the son bit the father on the finger, causing it to bleed. Witnesses confirmed that the son was the primary aggressor and he was arrested for the assault. The suspect has been handled numerous times in the past for family assaults and is well known to officers.
12/02 - Theft Under $50 - 300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:57 p.m. a male was apprehended for shoplifting ten cans of Red Bull energy drink. The male was observed leaving the store by the on-duty clerk and her son. The suspect had the cans under his jacket. The suspect attempted to flee but was stopped by the clerk's son and held for police. The suspect was cited for the theft and released.
12/04 - Missing/Runaway Juvenile - 400 block of True Gunn Road: At 3:29 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a missing 15 year old juvenile. The juvenile's mother reported that the child had left at approximately 2:30 a.m. and did not have permission to be gone from the home. She was entered into the national database as missing.
12/04 - Assault by Contact - 100 block of Pine Meadows: Detectives received a report through Child Protective Services of a possible assault by contact of a child. The report stated that during an argument between the child's mother and step-father, a phone was thrown and struck the child's elbow, causing a bruise. There were other signs of possible neglect and/or injury reported. The case is still under investigation.
12/04 - Theft $20,000 to $100,000 - 1000 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:04 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle, a 2003 Dodge truck, was being tracked by the victim's granddaughter. The granddaughter was using a cell phone left in the vehicle as a tracker. During the tracking, a Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force officer from Mansfield heard the call on the radio. The stolen vehicle was southbound on U.S. 67 approaching Midlothian. The auto theft task force officer was able to respond and stopped the vehicle outside of the Midlothian city limits. A 48 year old male was arrested and charged with the theft. The vehicle was recovered intact.
12/05 - Hit and Run Accident - 600 block of Hillside Drive: At 10:15 p.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. The vehicle, a 2006 Honda Civic, was parked and unoccupied. A witness stated that two vehicles were in the street and one of the vehicles, a white Ford truck, backed into the victim's vehicle. The vehicles left he scene. No damage estimate was available at the time of report.
12/06 - Death Investigation - 1000 block of Colonial Court: At 10:29 a.m. officers responded to a report of the unattended death of a 50 year old female. The officers met with a friend of the victim, who stated that she found the victim unresponsive and called 911. The victim was pronounced deceased and the Medical Examiner's office responded. No cause of death was readily observable.
