02/08 - Theft $1,500 to $20,000 - 1200 block of Cross Creek Drive: At 3:17 p.m. Arlington police requested that a Kennedale officer check a residence in this city for the registered owner of a 1991 Chevrolet truck. The truck had been involved in a hit and run accident in Arlington at 2:59 a.m. and the driver fled the scene. Upon arriving at the address and speaking to the owner, it was discovered that the truck had been stolen after being parked in the driveway at 9:30 p.m. The owner met with Arlington police at the scene and took possession of the vehicle.
02/08 - Possession Controlled Substance - 100 block of Briarwood Drive: At 5:40 a.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious male. The male was reportedly pacing back and forth in the roadway. On arrival the officers recognized the male as a known narcotics user. The male attempted walk away from the officers as they arrived. As he walked away the male threw a cigarette lighter and a plastic bag into a nearby yard. Officers retrieved the items and found the bag to contain methamphetamine. The male admitted to smoking the substance earlier but could not remember what time. The male was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
02/08 - Credit/Debit Card Abuse - 100 block of Collett Sublett Road: At 12:27 p.m. a victim reported to police that she left her debit card in a local business the night before. When she discovered the card missing she returned to the business, which did not have the card. Her bank account showed a $26.00 gas charge at an Arlington convenience store. The bank canceled the card and the victim called to report the offense.
02/08 - Theft $500 to $1,500 - 400 block of 4th Street: At 7:00 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown removed two youth dirt bikes from his patio. The bikes had been secured with a chain and lock, which was cut through to remove the chain. The bikes were valued at $950.00 total.
02/08 - Burglary - 200 block of Pine Meadows Drive: At 8:37 p.m. a victim reported to police that his home had been entered and cleaned out while he was absent for several days. The victim reported that he had been arrested in Arlington and after being released, stayed with a friend for a day. When he returned home the door and windows were opened and his belongings gone. The next door neighbor stated to officers that she had been paid by the landlord to clean the trash out of the duplex, which she did. Painters were later in the residence to do repairs. The landlord was contacted by the officer investigating the complaint. He at first denied being involved but then stated that the resident had "abandoned" the duplex and he had it cleaned up. It is unknown at this time who actually removed the items and the case is still under investigation.
02/09 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information - 1200 block of Cross Creek: At 8:53 p.m. a victim reported that someone filed a tax return for 2014 in his name. The victim received the notice form the IRS, who would not release any other information. An identity theft packet was provided to the victim.
02/10 - Child Endangerment - 6300 block of Tealpond Drive:At 11:59 p.m. an officer was notified by a CPS investigator of a child neglect/endangerment call she had made earlier In the evening. Based on a third party complaint CPS responded to the residence and determined that the child, an 11 month old male, was severely malnourished and required a doctor's care. The mother took the child to Cook Childrens Hospital where he was admitted as a critical care patient. The case has been referred to investigators for follow-up.
02/11 - Burglary - 1200 block of Cross Creek: At 8:06 p.m. a victim reported that a laptop computer valued at $329.99 was stolen from the residence. A possible suspect is the victim's estranged son, who does not live there.
