06/30 - Criminal Trespass - 500 block of Corry A. Edward Drive: At 12:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to a suspicious person. On arrival, the officers spoke to a non-resident homeowner in regards to the vacant home at the address. The homeowner arrived to check on the property and discovered two persons, a male and female, on the property. The home appeared to be lived in. The male fled the scene but the female stayed to speak with the owner and police. The female advised that the male has been living in the home but that she never entered it. The home was secured and the female was issued a criminal trespass warning.
06/30 - Incident - 6600 block of Hudson Village Creek Road: At 8:59 p.m. officers were dispatched to assist fire department medics with a male in distress. The male had been drinking heavily and was on several medications, according to a family member present at the scene. The male stopped breathing and was transported by ambulance to Mansfield Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
07/01 - Burglary - 400 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 9:20 a.m. a victim reported that a storage building located on a church property had been broken into. Person(s) unknown removed an air tank valued at $150.00. The church had a security camera and a video of the theft will be provided to investigators.
07/01 - Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 - 400 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:03 p.m. a victim reported to police that his business had been illegally entered by an unknown person. Security footage revealed a male entering the property at 3:15 a.m. and attempting to remove property. Although nothing was immediately evident as being removed, a security camera valued at $450.00 was damaged by the suspect in an attempt to disable it.
07/01 - Hit and Run Accident - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:14 p.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A vehicle was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet truck while trying to enter a business parking area. The truck fled to the scene but the victim was able to obtain a license plate number. The suspect vehicle was registered to an address in Fort Worth. The officer checked the location later but the vehicle was not present. A neighbor was notified by the officer and asked to have the vehicle driver contact police.
07/02 - Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance - 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: At 12:44 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle leaving a known narcotics location. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and the 47 year old female driver was interviewed. During a subsequent consent search of the vehicle the officer located Ecstasy, methamphetamine and related paraphernalia as well as several hundred dollars in cash. The amounts of narcotics exceeded personal use quantities. The female was arrested and transported to jail
07/02 - Hit and Run Accident - 1000 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 7:34 p.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A vehicle struck a mailbox, doing minor damage to the receptacle, and drove away. The vehicle's bumper, with license plate still attached, was in the roadway. The bumper was collected as evidence and the officer cleared to check the area for the suspect vehicle. The vehicle, which registered to an address in Dallas, was located a few block away. After interviewing the 30 year old male driver it was determined that he was on his cell phone when he struck the mailbox. The driver was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
07/03 - Hit and Run Accident - 300 block of S. Dick Price Road: At 12:44 a.m. an officer discovered a 1993 Ford 2 door parked on the side of the road. The vehicle appeared to have been damaged in an accident but no driver was in the area. It was determined that the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a city road sign. A handgun was in the vehicle on top of the center console. The firearm was taken for safekeeping when a driver/owner could not be contacted. The vehicle was impounded due to being involved in an unreported accident.
07/03 - Burglary - 800 block of Trent Street: At 10:15 a.m. a victim reported to police that his business was burglarized during the overnight hours. Person(s) unknown removed various items of lawn care equipment valued at $23,126.66.
07/04 - Marijuana Possession - 300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:00 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview the officer located marijuana and related paraphernalia in the vehicle. He was arrested and transported to jail.
07/04 - DWI - 800 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:30 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver appeared to have been drinking heavily. The driver, who admitted to drinking, could not complete the roadside field sobriety testing. He was arrested and transported to jail. Due to the holiday weekend no-refusal program, a blood draw was performed by jail medical personnel.
07/04 - Vehicle Burglary - 300 block of 4th Street: At 12:40 p.m. a victim reported that his gun safe and a Taurus .40 caliber handgun were removed from the trunk of his vehicle. The victim stated that the items may have been removed by a former family member who knew the safe was in the vehicle trunk.
07/04 - Assist Other Agency - 600 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:56 p.m. an officer observed a Forest Hill police unit attempting to stop a vehicle, which was not yielding. The vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet, continued through Kennedale and both units broke off the attempt to stop. A Mansfield K9 unit heard the stop attempt on the radio and responded to the area in their city and was able to get the vehicle stopped.
