01/24 - Evading Arrest or Detention - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:52 p.m. officers were dispatched to a suspicious person trying to enter a closed business. On arrival the officers observed a male fitting the description of the suspicious person. The male immediately fled on foot when he observed the officers. After a short foot pursuit the male was apprehended. The suspect admitted to smoking methamphetamine earlier and appeared to still be under the influence. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
01/24 - Criminal Mischief Under $100 - 900 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 4:08 p.m. an officer responded to a complaint of two teens playing on top of parked school buses. On arrival the officer was able to detain both males and discovered that a light lens had been broken by one of the suspects. He was cited for the destruction and released.
01/24 - Emotionally Disturbed Person - 800 block of Woodland Court: At 5:00 p.m. officers responded to a suspicious person complaint. On arrival they met with a male who stated that he and his girlfriend had been in an argument. The girlfriend and her mother were present and the mother stated that the male had assaulted her daughter. The daughter had bruising and swelling on her face consistent with being struck. She had attempted to cover it with make-up. Further examination revealed that the daughter had struck herself in the face in anger because her boyfriend had taken some scissors from her. She stated that she was going to use the scissors to harm herself. The female was detained and transported to JPS for an emergency mental evaluation.
01/26 - Assault by Threat - 100 block of Oakwood Lane: At 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance call. A victim reported that his female neighbor had come to his home and threatened him with physical harm. The disturbance was the result of a disagreement between the two adults' pre-teen children. The female suspect's child had damaged the victim's child's property, and the victim confronted the child about it. The suspect was angry over this and went to the victim's home to confront him. According to the victim, she threatened to assault him and then get her husband to assault him also. The suspect was cited for the assault by threat and released with a trespass warning.
01/26 - Missing Person (Adult) - 100 block of Briarwood Road: At 7:37 a.m. officers responded to a missing person report. The adult male had left his home the day before and had not returned or been heard from since. Attempts to track the victim's credit cards and cell phone were unsuccessful. The victim was found deceased later that day in Arlington.
01/27 - Assault by Contact - 200 block of N. Dick Price: At 4:20 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and female had had an altercation that stopped short of being physical in nature. All partied were warned and no further action was taken. Both parties are MHMR clients and dealing with emotional issues.
01/27 - Emotionally Disturbed Person - 1000 block of Jake Circle: At 7:45 p.m. officers responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed person. The person was on a cell phone and speaking to the suicide hotline. The officers located the person, an 18 year old male, at an intersection. He was still talking to the hotline when officers arrived. The male stated that he had been having suicidal thoughts and wanted to harm himself. He was detained and transported to JPS for a mental evaluation.
01/27 - Vehicle Burglary - 700 block of Crestview Drive: At 7:17 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown removed a generator and scooter from the bed of his truck. The items were not secured to the vehicle and were left overnight in the driveway.
01/27 - Burglary - 200 block of S. Dick Price Road: At 7:18 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered his home and attempted to removed food from the refrigerator. The suspect(s) left a bicycle in the garage. No other items were found to be missing.
01/27 - Death Investigation - 6700 block of Oak Crest Drive: At 4:42 p.m. officers responded to a death report. An 83 year old male was found by a family member to be deceased. The family had been unable to contact the victim for several days and came to the home to investigate. There were no signs of foul play immediately identifiable. The Medical Examiner's office took possession of the deceased.
01/28 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 7200 block of I-20: At 3:54 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the interview, the officer discovered marijuana paraphernalia. The driver was cited and released at the scene.
01/29 - Burglary - 700 block of Woodland Court: At 7:38 p.m. a victim reported to police that a possible known suspect had entered his residence while he was at work. The suspect removed personal items valued at several hundred dollars. The victim provided police with a name and date of birth for the possible suspect.
