08/22 – Sexual Assault – 6800 block of Oak Crest Drive: At 9:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a sexual assault. A 26 year old female was found standing in the roadway, intoxicated and stating that she had been sexually assaulted by two men at a residence. The female stated that she had been drinking alcohol and passed out. When she regained consciousness she was in a bedroom and realized she had been sexually assaulted. She got dressed and left the residence, which is not her own. The victim provided a description of the suspects involved in the offense. The victim was then transported to Harris Hospital for a sexual assault exam and treatment of her injuries. Officers located the residence, which is known to officers due to prior calls for service. Several males were located and interviewed. The bedroom where the alleged offense took place was also checked by officers. The case remains open and under investigation.

08/24 – Fictitious License Plate – 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:09 p.m. an officer observed a red Dodge truck parked at a business. The truck had a tanning bed in the back and was unoccupied. The license plate registered to a 1999 Ford. The officer made contact with business personnel in an attempt to locate the operator. As officers were checking the vehicle the male operator walked up. The male stated that he had purchased the truck from his father with the plate on it. He also did not have an entry key to the truck as he lost it and had to crawl into the vehicle through a window. Once the truck was opened the officers checked the VIN for a stolen report. The VIN registered to the Dodge truck, which was not reported stolen at the time of contact. The officer seized the plate and sticker as evidence and the vehicle was released to the owner.

08/25 – Emergency Mental Detention – 200 block of Sulphur Street: At 6:09 p.m. officers responded to a suicidal person. A mentally challenged resident of a group home was attempting to cut his wrist and stated that he wanted to go to a hospital for mental evaluation. The resident was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

08/26 – Possession of Marijuana – 1000 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 12:56 p.m. an officer was investigating a loud vehicle when he drove up on a single-vehicle accident. A white Chevrolet sports car appeared to have skidded into the ditch. No one was around the vehicle, which was smoking. The fire department responded to check for fire hazards and a wrecker was dispatched to impound the vehicle. The registration came back to a nearby residence but no one answered the door when officers attempted contact. Officers later observed lights turning on and off in the residence, indicating that someone was home but would not answer the door. Fire department personnel found a bag of marijuana in the passenger compartment of the vehicle during their safety check. A neighbor came out and reported to officers on scene that he has seen the vehicle being operated in a reckless manner in the past. The neighbor provided a description of the vehicle driver. The marijuana was placed in evidence and the vehicle was impounded.

08/26 – Accident – 1300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:20 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle had been struck by another vehicle being chased by several Arlington police units. The vehicle did not stop as it struck the victim’s vehicle. Arlington P.D. confirmed the pursuit and stated that the vehicle was being chased as it was reported stolen out of Fort Worth. The suspect evaded Arlington officers while driving back into Fort Worth on Loop 820.

08/26 – Death Investigation – 3800 block of S. New Hope Road: At 10:02 p.m. Kennedale P.D. was contacted by the medical examiner’s office about a death at Texas Raceway earlier in the evening. An officer responded to the raceway as the police had not been called for the accident at the time of occurrence. Track personnel reported that at 8:37 p.m. a 77 year old male had been involved in a single-vehicle accident while racing. The male lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the retaining walls twice. The vehicle drove the length of the track, coming to rest on the next door property. The male was transported by Kennedale Fire/Rescue to JPS Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:30 p.m. The cause of death will be determined by the M.E.

08/26 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:22 p.m. a victim reported that his 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen while he was inside a convenience store. The vehicle was taken by an unknown white male. The offense was captured on video.

08/27 – Public Intoxication – 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:28 a.m. officers responded to a call about two intoxicated males. The males were located in a white Toyota pickup sitting in front of a convenience store. Both males were intoxicated and were arrested. They were transported to jail for booking. The vehicle was impounded.
