1/8 - Criminal Mischief $100 to
$750 - 100 block of Pine Meadows: At 10:36 a.m. a victim reported that her 1998
Dodge was damaged during the overnight hours. The victim believed that the
damage was caused by known suspects with whom she has had an on-going dispute. The
damage consisted of a cinder block thrown through the windshield and a door
dent.
1/10 – Theft - $750 to $2,500
- 900 block of Wildcat Way: At 2:00 p.m. a victim reported to a school resource
officer that her cell phone was taken during class. It was valued at $950.00.
1/11 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family
Violence) - 4400 block of Danny Drive: At 2:33 a.m. officers responded to a
domestic disturbance. A male and female who are living together had gotten into
an argument. The male claimed that the female assaulted him and had visible minor
injuries. The female complained of injuries but nothing was observed. She was
transported to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives will follow up on the
assault charge. The male was wanted on a warrant for prior family violence. He
was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
1/11 - Sexual Assault - 4400
block of Danny Drive: At 4:26 a.m. an officer was dispatched to JPS Hospital
for a sexual assault complaint. The female from the earlier domestic disturbance
reported that she had been sexually assaulted by her live-in boyfriend before
the domestic call. A sexual assault exam was performed and a report generated.
Detectives will follow up.
1/10 - Aggravated Assault w/
Deadly Weapon - 900 block of Wildcat Way: A school resource officer received a
report on January 3, 2017 of a possible aggravated assault on several high
school students. A juvenile female who does not attend the school had arrived
on campus on January 3rd and attempted to assault several students
with a hammer. The female was disarmed by a school resource officer and was
released to a parent. The suspect has since sent a number of threatening
messages to several victims at the school, all of which were reported to
officers. She has also been seen at the school several times with another juvenile
female friend who has also threatened others and committed at least one
assault. The first suspect has been charged through the juvenile detention
center with Stalking, Aggravated Assault, Retaliation, Terroristic Threat, and
Assault. The second suspect has been charged with Harassment and Assault.
1/11 – Unlawful Carrying of a
Weapon - 500 block of North Road: At 9:38 p.m. officers responded to a fight in
progress that possibly involved a firearm. On arrival several people were
observed and a juvenile male suspect attempted to flee from arriving officers.
He was detained and a double edged knife was found in his pocket. No firearm
was found. A charge will be referred to the juvenile system for the knife.
1/11 – Theft - $750 to $2,500
- 300 block of S. New Hope Road: At 1:59 p.m. a complainant reported that a
plastic water tank was stolen from company property. The tank was valued at
$1,800.00.
1/12 – Theft - $100 to $750 -
900 block of Wildcat Way: At 11:00 a.m. a teacher reported that his smart phone
had been stolen during a class. The phone was valued at $480.00.
1/12 - Driving While
Intoxicated - 100 block of 4th Street: At 1:30 p.m. an officer
responded to a report of a DWI. A female stated that her husband had driven
home while intoxicated and struck their house with his vehicle. The vehicle and
home exhibited damage consistent with the female’s report. The suspect was
unable to complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. He was
transported to jail for booking and testing.
1/12 - Possession Drug
Paraphernalia - 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 8:00 p.m. an officer observed
a vehicle in Sonora Park. As the officer approached the vehicle the three male
occupants quickly exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away. All three were
detained by the officer while he awaited an assist unit. When the occupants exited
the vehicle the officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the passenger
compartment. Based on this a search of the vehicle was conducted. The driver
attempted to resist the search by locking the doors remotely and refusing to give
the officer access. Once access was obtained marijuana paraphernalia and a
flask of alcoholic beverage was found. Since none of the occupants were 21
years of age, the driver was cited for the alcohol as well as the drug paraphernalia.
