1/23 – Vehicle Burglary - 600 block of Winterwood Drive: At 6:27
a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered his unlocked 2016
Jeep to remove an electronic stereo subwoofer. The victim provided a possible
suspect in the offense. The burglary occurred overnight.
1/24 - Assault by Contact - 700
block of Woodland Court: At 8:54 p.m. officers responded to a domestic
disturbance. A female reported that she and her husband were arguing when he
slapped her in the face. A witness provided confirmation of the assault. The
husband was taken into custody for the assault as well as for outstanding
warrants from Arlington. He was transported to jail for booking.
1/25 – Unlawfully Carrying
Weapon - 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 3:52 a.m. an officer stopped a
vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, a male, appeared nervous and
smelled of an alcoholic beverage. He had an open container of beer in the
vehicle console. The driver was unable to successfully complete a field
sobriety assessment and was taken into custody for investigation of DWI. The
male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine as well as a fully loaded
9mm handgun. He was transported to jail for breath testing and booking.
1/26 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000
- 200 block of Arthur Drive: A victim reported to police that a contractor gave
her an estimate for landscaping work back in December. The victim paid a large
deposit up front and the contractor never returned to perform the work.
1/26 – Theft $750 to $2,500 -
4300 block of Eden Road S.: AT 4:58 p.m. a victim reported to police that his
1997 Chevrolet truck was stolen from a repair shop. The vehicle did not run due
to engine issues. Person(s) unknown removed the vehicle, possibly with a
wrecker. The date and time of the theft is unknown.
1/26 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family
Violence) - 700 block of Woodland Court: At 8:03 p.m. officers responded to a
domestic disturbance. The victim reported he was at home when he answered the
door. The suspect, who is the victim’s father-in-law, struck the victim several
times in the face as soon as he opened the door. The victim was able to separate
from the suspect who then tried to assault the victim’s mother-in-law. The
suspect had been drinking and appeared to be under the influence. He was
arrested for the assault and transported to jail.
1/27 - Abandoned Vehicle -
1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:30 a.m. an officer observed an
abandoned vehicle parked in the exit of an open business. The unattended
vehicle had broken down and the driver reported to staff on-site that she was
leaving the vehicle where it was. The vehicle was impounded as a traffic
hazard.
1/28 - Possession Control
Substance - 200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:46 a.m. an officer
responded to a suspicious person report. An employee at a local business called
to complain of a male outside of the business. The male was known to the
employee as a former boyfriend and as a narcotics user. While interviewing the male,
officers located methamphetamine in his vehicle. He was arrested and
transported to jail for booking.
