On Monday morning, 03-27-2017, at approximately 3:47 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglar alarm with glass breakage. This first officer on scene observed a male run from the building, which is a convenience store. The officer gave chase on foot until the suspect got into a waiting vehicle and fled west on Kennedale Parkway. A second responding officer observed the vehicle and attempted to stop it in the 1200 block of High Ridge Street. Two male suspects jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. One of the suspects was located on the roof of a nearby building. The second suspect was not located but officers were able to obtain a possible identification for a warrant.
The suspect’s vehicle contained property identified as being taken from the store. The property was returned to the owner of the business. A video of the offense was obtained from the store’s security camera system. The suspect was transported to jail for booking. He was charged with burglary and fleeing in a vehicle. No bail had been set.
