4/2 - Terroristic Threat - 1000 block of Bowman Springs Road: At 6:24 p.m. an officer received a report to contact a citizen regarding a bomb threat that had been made toward her daughter’s school. The threat had reportedly been made by the daughter’s teenaged ex-boyfriend, who also attends the school. Numerous attempts to contact the complainant were unsuccessful so the school administrator was contacted. The administrator was aware of the threat that had been made but doubted the credibility of the threat. Several parents were apparently also aware of the threat and were concerned for the safety of their students. It was decided that officers would be at the school early the next morning to reassure parents that the threat was being taken seriously and dealt with. After interviewing the teen and his parent it was determined that the threat was not credible.

 

4/3 – Hit and Run Accident - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:35 a.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A victim reported that his work truck had been struck by another vehicle backing into it. The suspect driver briefly spoke to the victim and then drove away. The accident was captured on security video from the business and the victim used his cell phone to photograph the license plate of the suspect’s truck.

 

4/3 – Theft - $100 to $750 - 800 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 7:03 p.m. a victim reported that her ex-husband kept their daughter’s cell phone during a custodial visit. The phone is paid for and belongs to the mother. It is unknown why the ex-husband took the phone and refused to give it back.

 

4/4 - Credit/ Debit Card Abuse - 200 block of Chateau Avenue: At 2:23 p.m. a victim reported that an ex-employee had used her debit card for an unauthorized purchase of several hundred dollars.

 

4/4 – Theft Under $100 - 700 block of Shady Creek Drive: At 7:00 p.m. an officer took a theft report for several stolen campaign signs. The signs were removed from the yards of political supporters of the candidate.

 

4/5 - Possession Control Substance PG 1 - 7200 block of I-20 E. Service Road: At 1:43 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The male driver stated that he had been with someone earlier who was smoking marijuana but he had not done so. During the interview the driver was found to be in possession of several small bags of cocaine powder. The driver was arrested for the drugs and was transported to jail for booking. The contraband was entered into evidence.

 

4/5 – Forgery, Fraudulent Use / Possession Identifying Items - 200 block of Arthur Drive: At 2:50 p.m. officers responded to a report of a theft in progress. The suspect was located and taken into custody. The suspect was known to officers from a reported theft of mail incident in March. The suspect had several pieces of mail in his pants leg that belonged to the complaining person. The suspect was also in possession of a forged Texas ID card. The suspect was transported to jail for booking and the illegal items were entered into evidence.

 

4/6 – Theft $100 to $750 - 500 block of North Road: At 8:31 p.m. an officer responded to a theft report. A female victim reported that she was visited by a friend earlier in the day. The friend obtained the victim’s wallet from her purse and removed $300.00. The suspect left soon after.

 

4/8 - Burglary - 300 block Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 12:54 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered her unlocked residence while she was away and removed a TV and gaming system.

 

4/8 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 100 block of Oakwood Lane: At 4:05 p.m. an officer responded to an emotionally disturbed person call. The victim, a 49 year old female, was extremely intoxicated and threatening to harm herself. The victim’s spouse stated that the victim has been an alcoholic for years but had never been as bad as her current status. The victim was transported by the officer to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention and evaluation.
