6/4 - Driving While
Intoxicated - 5700 block of E. IH 20: At 2:10 a.m. an officer stopped a Ford truck
for a traffic violation. The male driver appeared to be intoxicated and was
unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. His female
passenger had also been drinking and was determined to be impaired enough to not
be allowed to operate a vehicle. A family member responded to take custody of the
passenger and the vehicle. The driver was transported to jail for booking and a
voluntary blood draw.
6/4 - Aggravated Robbery - 300
block of Autumnwood Court: At 6:15 a.m. a victim contacted police to advise
that he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim, a 70 year old male, was
walking in his neighborhood when three vehicles pulled to the curb and stopped.
A lone male exited a white sedan and displayed a small handgun. The victim
raised his hands while the suspect searched and found the victim’s cell phone.
Initially the victim reported no injuries and that the suspect got back into
the vehicle before all three vehicles left the area. It was later determined
through security video footage that there were actually four vehicles
travelling together. The victim also reported later that the suspect had struck
him several times with the firearm before leaving. The case is open and under
investigation.
6/4 - Abandoned/ Found
Property - 400 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:43 p.m. an officer received
a wallet from a citizen. The wallet was found along Kennedale Parkway. Attempts
to contact the owner were unsuccessful. The wallet was placed in property until
the owner can claim it.
6/5 - Recovered Stolen
Vehicle - 1200 block of Swiney Hiett Road: At 11:44 p.m. an officer observed a
vehicle speeding on Kennedale Parkway. The vehicle sped up in an attempt to
elude the officer. The vehicle was found a short time later on Collette Sublett
Road. It was wrecked and abandoned by the driver/suspect. The vehicle was
checked and found to be stolen out of Dallas P.D. A search of the area for the
suspect was unsuccessful. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Dallas.
6/5 – Vehicle Burglary - 1000
block of Bell Oak Drive: At 8:30 a.m. a victim reported that both of her family
vehicles had been entered overnight. The unlocked vehicles were parked in the
driveway. A small amount of cash was missing.
6/5 – Vehicle Burglary - 1000
block of Oak Hill Park: At 5:13 p.m. a victim reported that his unlocked Dodge
truck was entered and the interior ransacked. Nothing was taken.
6/6 – Vehicle Burglary - 400
block of Lone Oak Court: At 6:11 p.m. a victim reported that her unlocked
vehicle was entered and the glove compartment contents taken out. Nothing was
missing from the vehicle, which was parked in the driveway.
6/6 – Theft $100 to $750 - 800
block of Trent Street: At 7:19 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown removed
a tail light assembly and power steering pump from his 1999 Dodge truck. The parts
were removed during the overnight hours.
6/7 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000
- 400 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:25 p.m. a victim reported that a male
and female came into his business inquiring about a car that was for sale. The victim
provided a key to the pair to look at the vehicle. A few minutes later the
victim observed the female driving the vehicle away and the male following in
their original vehicle. The suspects’ vehicle was determined to be stolen out of
Fort Worth.
6/7 - Application for Mental
Detention and Observation - 1000 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:12 p.m. officers
responded to a suspicious person. A dirty and unkempt male was located and
appeared to be highly agitated as though under the influence of a narcotic. The
male was not supposed to be on the property and was detained for transport to
JPS Hospital for an emergency evaluation and treatment.
6/9 – Vehicle Burglary - 1000
block of Cydnie Street: At 4:19 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle was
burglarized. The vehicle had been parked on the street in front of the house
and was unlocked. Suspect(s) removed a purse containing $1,246.00 in personal
items.
6/10 – Vehicle Burglary - 1200
block of Cross Creek Drive: At 5:31 a.m. a victim reported that his unlocked
vehicle was entered overnight. Suspect(s) removed a pair of Beats headphones
and a small amount of cash.
6/10 - Cruelty to
Non-Livestock Animal - 900 block of Shady Bend Drive: At 11:56 a.m. an officer
responded to a report of animal cruelty. A complainant reported that a male
neighbor had chased a dog into the street and had struck it once with an
unknown object. The neighbor was located and the animal inspected for injury.
The owner explained he did strike the dog once as discipline for getting out of
the yard. The animal was not injured and showed no signs of trauma or fear of
either the owner or the officer.
6/10 - Forgery - 300 block of
W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:57 p.m. officers responded to a 911 open line call.
A store clerk had dialed 911 to have police respond to a forgery in progress.
The suspect, a female, was still on scene when officers arrived. The female was
in possession of a fictitious I.D. and a forged business check. The female also
had in her possession a box contained numerous credit cards and check books
that did not belong to her. She was arrested and transported to jail for
booking.
