9/17 - Driving While Intoxicated - 500 block of Mansfield Highway: At 2:51
a.m. an officer observed two SUVs racing on Kennedale Parkway. Both vehicles, a
Cadillac Escalade and a Chevrolet Tahoe, were travelling in excess of 100 mph.
The Tahoe began to slow down after a period of time due to control issues. The
Escalade continued into Forest Hill. Upon stopping the Tahoe, the officer
contacted the driver, an adult male. The male identified the Escalade driver by
name and the information was relayed to Forest Hill police. The Tahoe driver admitted
that they were racing and that both vehicles attempted to flee from the
officer. The driver smelled of alcoholic beverage and was also smoking
marijuana earlier while driving. A partially burned marijuana cigarette was
located in the vehicle. The male was arrested and transported to jail for booking
and a voluntary blood draw. He was charged with DWI, Evading Arrest or
Detention (Vehicle), and Racing on a Highway.
9/17 - Theft - $100 to $750 - 100 block of N. Joplin Road: At 6:01 a.m. a female
victim contacted police to report that a family member had taken the victim’s
purse. The purse contained cash, credit cards, and identification cards. The
purse was taken during the night while the victim slept.
9/17 - Theft - $2,500 to $30,000 - 100 block of N. Joplin Road: At 10:41
a.m. a male victim reported that his vehicle was stolen by a family member. The
vehicle, a 1999 Lincoln Towncar, was parked in the driveway of the residence.
The victim believes that the vehicle was stolen at the same time that the same suspect
removed his daughter’s purse from the residence. That offense was reported
earlier in the morning.
9/17 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 6800 block of Oak
Crest Drive W.: At 3:14 p.m. officers responded to a report of an emotionally
disturbed person. An adult female was reported to be in restraint by a family
member after becoming combative. The female was behaving and speaking erratically.
She was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention and
evaluation.
9/18 - Driving While Intoxicated - 100 block of S. New Hope Rd: At 10:30
a.m. officers observed a vehicle being driven erratically. Upon stopping the
vehicle, the adult male driver appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to
successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested and
transported to jail for a voluntary blood draw and booking.
9/19 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 100 block of N. Joplin
Road: At 6:48 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult brother
and sister had gotten into an argument about the sister’s disrespectful attitude
toward their mother. During the argument the sister struck the brother and a
physical altercation began. The sister was determined to be the primary
aggressor and was arrested for the assault. She was transported to jail for
booking.
9/19 - Abandoned Vehicle - 200 block of Arthur Drive: At 1:53 p.m. an
officer located a vehicle that had been tagged twice by officers for being
inoperable. It was impounded.
9/20 - Disorderly Conduct (Obscene Language) - 900 block of Wildcat Way: At
7:30 a.m. a school resource officer was notified by a female faculty member that
two male non-students were on campus and one had used obscene language toward
her. The males were located and stated that they had come to the campus to
deliver cash to a female student. The males admitted to being in the school and
having a confrontation with the faculty member. One of the males admitted to
using obscene language toward the faculty member. He was cited for the
violation and both were given criminal trespass warnings to not come back on
campus.
9/21 - Application for Mental
Detention and Observation - 6000 block of Treepoint Drive: At 11:31 p.m.
officers responded to major accident. An Isuzu Trooper was observed on its side
in the roadway. The adult male driver made several statements about injuring
himself. It was determined that the accident occurred when the driver crossed
into the oncoming traffic lane and drove without regard to other traffic and
drivers. He was determined to be a danger to himself and others. The male was
transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention and evaluation.
9/21 - Forgery - 300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:42 p.m. an officer
responded to a reported forgery. A convenience store owner reported that a male
had passed a forged check earlier in the week and was now trying to forge
another one. The suspect had left the store when police were called. The
suspect left his driver’s license and the check at the store. The suspect
returned several hours later that evening to retrieve his license and the
officer responded to interview him. The suspect spoke to the officer, who did
not make an arrest due to the time lapse between the offense and the interview.
The suspect was informed that he would be arrested and charged as soon as
warrants could be obtained.
9/22 - Possession Control Substance - 500 block of Oak Forest Court: Just
before shift change officers were dispatched to a suspicious person call. A
male was reported to have entered a vehicle and was now sleeping under it. The
officers observed an adult male sleeping on the driveway under the vehicle and
woke him up. The male came out from under the vehicle and stated he had no idea
where he was or why he was there. The male was detained in handcuffs for safety
and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, non-prescribed
Hydrocodone pills, and marijuana. He was arrested and transported to jail for
booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.
9/22 - Death Investigation - 6700 block of Lindale Road: At 9:28 a.m.
officers responded to a deceased person call. A witness found a 64 year old
male deceased in a vehicle. The vehicle belonged to the deceased male, who was
homeless. No evidence of foul play was observed. The death appeared to be from
natural causes.
9/22 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family
Violence) - 100 block of Peachtree Court: At 1:35 p.m. officers responded to a
domestic disturbance. An adult female reported that her husband had become
intoxicated and was attempting to leave the residence after a verbal argument.
She would not let him have his car keys due to his intoxication level. The
husband pried the victim’s hands open and forcefully removed the keys, injuring
her hands. The suspect had already left before police arrived.
9/23 - Suspicious Person - 300 block of Arthur Drive: At 11:29 p.m.
officers responded to a suspicious female on a bicycle. The female was reported
to be going through a vehicle and also the trash that the vehicle owner had
placed out for pickup. The female suspect was being followed by witnesses to an
address on Arthur Drive. The female was contacted but resisted officers attempt
to detain her. Due to claimed injuries, the suspect was released to medics for transport
to the hospital. The suspect’s boyfriend was present at the time and was
observed the next night going through trash. He was located on Arthur Drive and
given a criminal trespass warning.
9/23 – Fraudulent Use/Possession
of Identifying Info - 100 block of Arthur Drive: An officer was contacted by a
victim who stated that a known person has been using his identity in multiple
states to commit crimes. The victim is working with the Texas Attorney General’s
office to get cases filed on the suspect. A police report was needed for them
to move forward.
9/23 - Recovered Stolen Vehicle (other agency) - 600 block of Oak Leaf
Drive: At 1:22 p.m. an officer responded to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle
was parked in a residential area and was not known to the residents. The
vehicle was discovered to be stolen out of Fort Worth. Fort Worth was notified
and the vehicle owner responded to take possession.
