9/26 - Assault Public Servant - 900 block of Wildcat Way: At 3:05 p.m. a
school resource officer was notified of a fight in the high school office. The
officer observed a student assaulting an assistant principal and pulled the
student away, telling her to stop. The student then cursed the officer and
began assaulting him. She was placed in handcuffs but continued to resist in
anger. After being checked by medics the student was released to the officer and
brought to the police department for detention. Her parents responded to take
her home. Over the next few days the officer continued to investigate the
incident based on information obtained from the student and her parents. This
investigation revealed that the initial fight was the culmination of several
events between the detained student and another student. This trouble was
started over an incident in Arlington between the girls’ families. Several charges
on both students have been referred to the Juvenile Justice Center.
9/25 - Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 - 400 block of Bolen Road: At 8:53
a.m. an officer received a report on damaged construction equipment. The
equipment was left on site over the weekend when the damage was done.
9/25 - Recovered Stolen Property - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:21
p.m. an officer received a report that Fort Worth police recovered a handgun stolen
from a Kennedale resident.
9/25 - Theft $100 to $750 - 200 block of Pine Meadow Drive: At 9:25 p.m. a
victim reported that her IPhone was missing. The phone was pinged to a location
in Arlington. The victim had no idea how the phone could have gotten there or
where it was taken from. Arlington police were contacted to attempt to locate
the phone.
9/27 - Assault by Contact - 900 block of Wildcat Way: At 11:31 a.m. a high
school resource officer received complaint of assault by contact. A male
student had approached a female student and caused unwelcome contact with her.
The student was cited for the offense.
9/27 - Animal Bite - 700 block of Woodland Court: At 7:21 p.m. an officer
responded to a dog bite call. A female parent stated that her family dog had
bitten her 3 year old son on the nose. She had immediately placed the animal
into a cage to quarantine it from the family. She was told to keep the animal
there until the ACO can be notified.
9/28 - Incident - 900 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 8:15 a.m. a
junior high school resource officer received a report of a stolen IPhone. The
phone was taken while the student was at lunch. A possible student was located who
was reported to have the phone. The student stated that he found the phone,
asked around the cafeteria and then left it when he had to go to class. The
phone was turned in the next day to a faculty member by an unknown student.
9/28 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info - 7300 block of Hudson
Cemetery Road: An officer received a report of a stolen credit card number
being used out of state. The victim reported the crime to the Kennedale Police Department
although he actually lives in unincorporated Tarrant County. A report was taken
and forwarded to TCSO investigations.
9/28 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 100 block of W. Kennedale
Parkway: At 8:06 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
On arrival a male was located who stated that his father had become angry at
him while in the car and that the father threw money at him as he exited the
car at Dollar General to go buy shoes. The father was located later at his
residence and stated that the son had been out of control and had pushed him
(the father) against the car at Dollar General, injuring his back. The son is
known to officers through prior contacts and numerous emergency mental commitments.
A report was generated for investigators to follow-up.
9/29 – Vehicle Burglary - 1100
block of Fawn Meadow Trail: At 12:33 a.m. a victim reported that his vehicle
was entered by person(s) unknown. No forced entry was found and the only thing
missing was a gold necklace.
9/29 - Disorderly Conduct - 900 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 4:30
p.m. the junior high school resource officer was notified of a disturbance. A female
parent had scheduled a meeting with the principal. The parent entered the
meeting in an agitated stated and refused to allow the staff to express their
concerns over the parent’s child. She finally left the meeting and made several
obscene and racial remarks to the principal before leaving the office. The
parent was cited for the violation.
9/29 – Vehicle Burglary - 1100
block of Fawn Meadow Trail: At 12:25 p.m. an officer responded to an auto
burglary report. A victim reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered overnight
and her purse was stolen.
9/29 - Narcotics Overdose - 200 block of S. Kenney Street: At 8:07 p.m.
officers responded to a drug overdose. An adult female was found unresponsive
in a bathroom. Paraphernalia indicated she had injected heroin. An officer
administered a dose of Narcan and the female regained consciousness. She was
transported by medics to Mansfield Methodist Hospital.
9/30 - Theft - Under $100 - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:49
p.m. officers received a report of a theft of beer from a store. The vehicle
description was given and an officer observed the vehicle several blocks from
the store as he responded to the call. The vehicle was stopped and the driver
identified as the suspect. The beer was in the vehicle. The suspect had
outstanding arrest warrants and was arrested for the warrants as well as the
theft. He was transported to jail for booking.
