The Kennedale Police Department recently took delivery of a new radar trailer for use in assisting with traffic speed control. The trailer did not cost the city any budget funds. It was purchased through a state grant from the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor’s office.
This trailer is state-of-the-art and will perform multiple functions. It is a radar speed display unit as well as a message board that may be deployed for special events and emergencies. The unit will also perform traffic counts by number as well as speed. The trailer has already been deployed once on Hilltop Drive. The department anticipates regular deployment of the unit to various high traffic locations throughout the city to assist in slowing traffic and reducing resident complaints.
To request the trailer be deployed in your neighborhood, please contact Capt. Darrell Hull at 817.985.2162 or Chief Williams at 817.985.2161.
