12/31 - Driving While
Intoxicated - 700 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:48 p.m. an officer
stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult male driver smelled of
alcoholic beverage and exhibited signs of intoxication. He was unable to
successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. He
was transported to jail for booking and a voluntary blood draw.
01/02 – Fraudulent Use or Possession
of Identifying Information - 700 block of Woodland Court: At 4:34 p.m. a victim
reported to police that an unknown person had used the victim’s information to
purchase a new Dodge truck at a dealership in Mississippi. The victim completed
an identity theft packet. The report and the packet will be forwarded to the appropriate
police agency in Mississippi.
01/03 - Burglary - 100 block
of Oakwood Lane: At 5:23 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown entered
her home during the afternoon hours. Suspect(s) removed electronics items.
01/04 – Unlawful Possession
of Firearm by Felon - 100 block of Pine Meadow Drive: At 12:13 a.m. an officer
stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The adult male driver and his vehicle
both smelled of marijuana, and the driver stated that he had smoked earlier in
the day. The officer looked inside the vehicle and observed a .40 caliber
handgun sitting in the floor against the console. The driver, who had a history
of narcotics possession and felon in possession of a firearm, was immediately
handcuffed for safety. The officer also found methamphetamine and related
paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to jail
for booking.
01/04 - Possession Marijuana
- 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:07 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle
for a traffic violation. The adult female driver’s vehicle smelled of marijuana
and she stated that she had marijuana in the vehicle. The officer was handed
the marijuana and the driver was placed under arrest. The driver was booked
into jail without incident.
01/05 - Burglary - 300 block of
Pennsylvania Avenue: At 10:04 a.m. officers responded to a burglar alarm. Upon
arrival the officers discovered a patio door that had been broken out. The home
owner responded and reported that nothing appeared to be missing. The damage to
the door was estimated at $1,000.00.
01/05 - Assault by Contact - 400 block of N. Little School Road: At 2:15
p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female living with
her parents reported that she had been assaulted during an argument with her
father and mother. The father was determined to have been the primary aggressor
and was cited for assault by contact. He had grabbed the victim by the throat
but did not cause injury or airway constriction. The victim asked to be escorted
to a nearby motel so she could get out of the house.
01/05 - Burglary - 300 block of Creekwood Court: At 4:11 p.m. a victim
reported that person(s) unknown entered his home and removed a number of
electronics devices and a firearm. It is believed that the suspect(s) gained
entry through a door left ajar for a pet.
01/05 - Incident - 600 block of Tower Drive: At 5:07 p.m. an officer
received a report of unknown narcotics being delivered in the mail. A business owner
stated that the postal service had delivered a bag of pills that were not his.
After contacting the Poison Control Center, the officer was told that the pills
were Ecstasy. The pills were seized and placed in evidence.
01/05 - Firework/ Discharge/ Possession of Fireworks in City Limits - 1000
block of Estates Drive: At 5:28 p.m. an officer responded to a report of
gunshots. The noise turned out to be two males setting off fireworks.
