1/7 - Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon
- 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: At 1:07 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle
for an equipment violation. When the officer approached the vehicle he smelled
an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. The adult male driver stated that he
had smoked marijuana earlier in the day. During the interview the driver was
found to be in possession of marijuana and a 9mm handgun. The driver was
arrested and transported to jail for booking.
1/7 – Theft $750 to $2,500 - 100
block of E. Mistletoe Drive: At 1:29 p.m. an officer was flagged down by an
adult female and her juvenile daughter. The two were tracking a cell phone that
had been stolen from the daughter. The daughter stated that while she was at a
nearby school campus three males grabbed her cell phone and fled. The phone was
being tracked and was supposedly in the possession of three males who were
nearby. After being questioned by the officer, the males denied knowing
anything about the phone and were not in possession of it. They were released
after being identified for future follow-up. The phone was located on the ground
a short distance away. During a later interview of the victim juvenile, she
admitted to knowing one of the males and allowing him to use her phone. He then
kept it and left the school campus. The case will be turned over to detectives.
1/7 - Incident - 900 block of
Harrison Drive: At 5:06 p.m. a juvenile victim and her mother reported being
threatened by a student at the junior high school. The threat was received via
text message but it was unclear as to who actually sent the message. A report
was taken and school officials notified.
1/8 - Burglary - 200 block of
Arthur Drive: At 3:58 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown entered her
residence during the daylight hours and removed electronics and jewelry. Entry
appeared to have been made using the pet door.
1/10 - Abandoned/ Found Property
- 500 block of Sublett Road: At 12:55 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a
warrant investigation. The license plate number had numerous arrest warrants
assigned to it for an adult male. The male turned out to be a passenger in the vehicle
and was arrested for the warrants. During the interview the officer found a
debit card that belonged to a person in Richardson, Texas. The card was placed
in property and evidence for security until the owner can be contacted.
1/10 - Incident - 600 block of
Briar Court: At 4:10 p.m. a victim reported that her wedding ring was stolen
from the master bedroom closet. The ring was taken while contractors were doing
remodeling work in the bedroom. The ring was valued at $5,300.00.
1/11 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 1200 block of W.
Kennedale Parkway: At 6:33 p.m. officers responded to a report of a medical
emergency. On arrival an adult female was observed to be in mental distress.
She was rambling incoherently and made a comment about suicide. She was
detained and transported to JPS for an emergency mental detention and
evaluation.
1/12 - Theft $750 to $2,500 - 300 block of Hudson Court: At 3:02 p.m. a
victim reported that person(s) unknown removed several sheets of wood from a
construction site. The items, value at $1,039.20, were taken during the
overnight hours.
1/12 - Incident - 100 block of
E. Mistletoe Drive: At 4:12 p.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious
male. A child reported that an older male had tried to lure her into a parking
area of a school. The child would not approach the male and ran home. He was
not on scene when officers arrived.
1/12 - Assault (Bodily Injury) - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At
5:43 p.m. officers responded to a group fight. Two groups of people in two
different vehicles were reported to be fighting in a parking lot. On arrival
only one of the vehicles, a Jeep Patriot, was located. The driver stated that
he had stopped at a light on Mansfield Highway in Forest Hill when a Ford
Explorer drove up and someone hit the Jeep with a bottle. The vehicles pulled
into a business parking lot and a fight broke out. The reporting male had a cut
lip but refused transport to a hospital.
1/13 - Theft under 100 - 100 block of Creekside Court: At 10:29 a.m.
officers responded to a theft of a package from a front porch. A vehicle with
multiple occupants had stopped in front of a home and removed a package from
the porch. A witness reported the theft to police, who located the vehicle and occupants
a short distance away in another neighborhood. The occupants admitted to the
theft and were arrested. They were transported to jail for booking.
