3/18- Application for Mental
Detention and Observation - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:12 a.m. an
officer responded to a report of a female walking in a traffic lane of
Kennedale Parkway. The female was located and was unable to coherently answer
any questions. She gave a rambling series of random statements to the officer.
The female was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency
detention and mental evaluation.
3/19 - Theft $100 to $750 - 800 block of Shady Bend Drive: At 9:23 p.m. a
victim reported that an unknown person entered his backyard by jumping the
fence. The suspect removed the pool cleaner and left. The item was valued at
$600 to $1,000. Security video captured the theft.
3/20 - Fraud Use/Possession of Identifying Info - 3200 block of E.
California Street: At 11:25 a.m. a victim reported to police that an unknown
person had made an unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account.
3/21 - Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 - 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At
10:29 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) used a brick to break out a
window on her home.
3/21 - Theft $2,500 to $30,000 - 4300 block of S. Eden Road: At 9:47 p.m. a
victim reported his 2003 Cadillac SUV was stolen from his place of business.
The vehicle was not locked and was taken after the victim left work with a
friend.
3/22 - Assault by Contact - 100 block of E. Mistletoe Drive: At 11:00 a.m.
officers responded to a report of an assault at the intermediate school campus.
A student reported that during a confrontation in class with his teacher, the
teacher assaulted him by placing his hands on him to remove items the student
was holding. The teacher was issued a citation for the assault after statements
were received from students who were present.
3/23 - Theft Under $100 - 900 block of Shady Vale Drive: An officer was
contacted in regards to stolen political signs. The complainant reported that
several signs for a political candidate were stolen from his yard and from neighboring
yards. Based on security video, the suspect appears to be a male driving a
light colored 4-door pickup truck.
3/23 - Assault by Contact - 1200
block of Hunters Haven Drive: At 8:46 a.m. a witness to an offense called the
police department and spoke to an officer. The witness stated that earlier in
the month he had witnessed his former employer assault his (the employer’s)
wife. The witness reported that he was threatened with termination if he didn’t
lie about the assault. The witness wanted to come in and make a true statement
about what was observed.
3/23 - Theft $2,500 to $30,000 - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At
12:22 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered his property and
removed a riding lawn mower valued at $10,000. The mower was locked in a cage
behind a secured fence. There was no forced entry and the victim believes that
a former employee may have committed the theft.
3/23 - Assault by Contact - 200 block of N. New Hope Road: At 2:53 p.m.
officers responded to a fight in progress. A male and female were located and
it was determined that, during a confrontation over a cell phone, the female
had attempted to strike the male. Contact was made but no injury was reported.
The female was issued a citation for assault by contact.
