4/1 - Driving While
Intoxicated - 7500 block of Mansfield Highway: At 1:28 a.m. an officer stopped
a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult male driver exited the vehicle and
exhibited signs of intoxication. The driver was unable to successfully complete
a field sobriety test and was arrested for DWI. He was transported to the jail
where a voluntary blood draw was performed. He was booked in without incident.
4/2 - Incident - 500 block of
North Road: At 10:30 a.m. an officer met with a complainant about possible
child abuse. The complainant stated that an earlier incident involving an
injury to a child had been reported initially as an accident but now she believes
it may have been intentional. CPS was contacted and a case file opened.
4/3 – Vehicle Burglary - 400
block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 3:59 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a
vehicle burglary. Person(s) unknown entered an unsecured vehicle overnight and
removed a driver’s license and debit card.
4/3 - Fraud Use/Possession of
Identifying Info - 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue: At 5:04 p.m. a victim
reported that unknown person(s) passed a bad check in Dallas using his (the
victim’s) identifying information. The victim was notified of the fraud when a
collection company contacted him about the check.
4/4 - Assault Bodily Injury -
900 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 3:45 p.m. a school resource officer was
asked to investigate a fight between two junior high school students. The
students, both males, had gotten into an altercation that became physical. Both
students were charged with assault.
4/4 - Incident - 900 block of
Wildcat Way: At 6:50 a.m. the high school resource officer was asked to
investigate a possible threat by a student. After speaking with the student at
his home investigators determined that there was no threat. A message that had
been inadvertently observed by a faculty member was part of an anti-bullying
project that several students were working on. There was no threat to the
student body or staff.
4/4 - Burglary - 6800 block of
Oak Crest Drive W.: At 3:45 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s)
forced open her back door and took a television and gold watch. The offense
occurred during the daylight hours.
4/5 - Injury of Child/
Elderly/ Disabled (Bodily Injury) - 6600 block of Kelly Elliott Road: At 2:10
p.m. a detective responded to an elementary school on a report of injury to a
child. On arrival CPS workers were already present along with Arlington police
officers. The injuries to the special needs child were determined to have
occurred at a residence in Kennedale. The injuries were discovered by a
teacher. The parents were contacted and gave investigators verbal statements as
to how and when the injuries may have occurred. The child was taken into
custody by CPS and transported to Cooks Childrens Hospital for examination.
4/5 - Vehicle Burglary - 1100
block of Fawn Meadow Drive: At 3:06 a.m. a victim reported that two unknown
males had entered his vehicle. The victim had a camera in his vehicle that
alerted him at 3:00 a.m. his vehicle was being entered. The victim confronted
the males, who ran and entered into a dark blue Chevrolet SUV parked down the
street. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
4/6 – Theft $750 to $2,500 - 1000
block of Bowman Springs Road: At 9:05 p.m. a victim reported that someone took
her Apple MacBook laptop computer from a school gym. The item was valued at
$1,300.
4/6 - Incident - 100 block of
Clover Lane Drive: At 4:38 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a report of a
found handgun. The weapon was discovered lying in the roadway. The weapon was
taken and entered into evidence as found property. Later in the shift a male
contacted police to report that his handgun was missing. The weapon had
inadvertently fallen from his vehicle without his knowledge. The male had
paperwork identifying the hand gun as the one found earlier in the day. It was
released to him.
4/6 – Assault by Contact - 5700
block of E. I-20: At 6:27 p.m. a victim reported to police that he had been
assaulted by his supervisor while at work. The victim stated that the
supervisor began to yell at him to get back to work while he was taking a
break. At one point during the confrontation the supervisor grabbed the victim
and shoved him. The victim left work and called police the next day to report
the incident, which had also been reported to his managers.
4/6 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family
Violence) - 800 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 7:48 p.m. officers
responded to a domestic disturbance between a male and female who are
cohabitating. The female reported that the she had caught the male with another
female and believed he was having an affair. An argument ensued and the male
assaulted the female causing injury. The male stated that he and the female
were arguing when she assaulted him twice for no reason, and caused injury. The
male had multiple arrest warrants out of Arlington and Grand Prairie. He was
arrested for the warrants and transported to jail. The female refused to write
a statement to the officers or to have her injuries photographed.
4/7 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000
- 500 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:00 a.m. a victim reported that his
Bobcat tractor had been stolen from his business during the overnight hours.
The victim named a possible suspect to the reporting officer.
