04/23 – Driving While Intoxicated – 300 block of Bowles
Court: At 1:32 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for multiple violations. The
driver, an adult female, exhibited signs of impairment and was unable to successfully
complete a field sobriety assessment. The female admitted to smoking marijuana approximately
one hour earlier. She was in possession of a pipe used to smoke narcotics. The
female was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking. She refused
to voluntarily give a blood sample. A warrant was obtained so the sample could
be drawn.
04/25 – Burglary – 800 block of Lakewood Drive: At 2:10 a.m.
a victim reported to police that her home had been burglarized. The victim
reported that she left her home at midnight and returned at 2:00 a.m. While she
was out, unknown suspects entered the home and removed numerous items of value
including a handgun and jewelry. The victim believes that she knows who the
suspect(s) could be and gave the names to the officer. Entry was made through an
unsecured door in the rear of the home.
04/25 – Death Investigation – 1000 block of Colonial Court: At
7:18 a.m. officers responded to a report of a deceased person. An elderly male
had been found deceased in his bed by a home health care worker. The victim had
health issues and was bedridden for some time. The Medical Examiner’s office
responded to take possession of the deceased.
04/26 – Possession of Controlled Substance – 100 block of
Peachtree Court: At 1:55 a.m. an officer was checking an area for a known
offender wanted on multiple felony warrants. The wanted person was known to be
living in one of the rental units. A vehicle started up and attempted to leave
as the officer pulled through the parking area. A male in the passenger seat
was slumped over in an attempt to keep from being seen and appeared to be
placing something under the seat. The officer stopped the vehicle, informed the
occupants of the reason for the stop, and requested identification. The
passenger gave a verbal name and date of birth that turned out to be false. After
further investigation, the adult male passenger was the person wanted on the
felony warrants for Organized Crime and Possession of Controlled Substance. The
adult male driver was also wanted on felony warrants for Dangerous Drugs and
Delivery of a controlled Substance. A small bag of methamphetamine was found
under the passenger seat of the vehicle and the passenger was charged with that
as well as Failure to Identify (Fugitive). Both suspects were transported to
jail for booking.
04/26 – Assault by Contact – 600 block of E. Kennedale
Parkway: At 6:11 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult
male had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and his brother. All three
live in the same home. The suspect forced his girlfriend on to the floor during
the argument but then let her up. The suspect’s brother threw him out of the
house and locked the door. The suspect used a piece of wood to break the window
in the back door and regain entry into the home. When the brother stated he was
calling the police, the suspect fled and was not on scene when police arrived.
04/26 – Forgery – 1500 block of Gilman Road: At 11:20 a.m. a
victim reported that several forged checks had been cashed on his bank account
by unknown person(s). The checks were stolen from the victim’s vehicle on
04/21/2018.
04/28 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – 100 block
of Pine Meadows Drive: At 12:09 a.m. officers responded to a domestic
disturbance. On arrival it was determined that numerous individuals were living
in a duplex unit. One of the male residents (suspect) started an argument over
rent with two of the other residents, a brother and sister. The argument became
physical and the suspect bit one of the victims on the hand. The suspect was also
injured during the scuffle when he fell and hit his head. He was transported to
the hospital for treatment. A warrant will be obtained at a later date.
04/28 – Driving While Intoxicated – 400 block of Municipal
Drive: At 7:10 a.m. an off-duty officer observed a vehicle being operated in an
erratic manner. The officer called for a patrol unit and followed the vehicle
into a parking area at 405 Municipal Drive. Contact was made by an arriving
patrol officer. The adult male driver exhibited signs of intoxication and
smelled of alcohol. He had also been in a fight as he had blood on his clothes
and person. The male was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety
assessment. He was transported to jail for a blood draw and booking.
04/28 – Missing Person (Adult) – 1400 block of Swiney Hiett
Road: At 11:00 a.m. a complainant reported his adult brother to be missing from
his home. The missing brother has not been seen in over two weeks. The missing
person was entered into the national database.
