5/20 - Theft $100 to $750 - 100 block of N. Joplin Road: At 7:18 p.m. a
victim reported that a known suspect entered her unlocked residence during the
day and removed $244.00 in property. The suspect is not a resident of the home.
5/21 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 500 block of W.
Kennedale Parkway: At 1:09 a.m. an officer observed a male in the roadway. Upon
stopping to investigate, the officer observed the male to have a baseball bat
and a flashlight. The male at first advanced toward the officer in a threatening
manner. After several commands from the officer the male dropped the bat. It
was determined that the male was having a mental episode possibly related to
methamphetamine use. He was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an
emergency evaluation.
5/21 - Unlawful Delivery/Manufacture of Simulated Control Substance - 900
block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 10:30 a.m. a school resource officer at the
junior high school was informed that a student was selling pills identified by
the student as Xanax. It was determined after closer examination that the pills
were an over-the-counter medication for pain relief. The student was brought to
the office and a family member responded to the school. The student was
suspended by school authorities and went home with the family member. The
student will be charged with sale of the medication represented to be a
controlled substance.
5/21 - Theft $750 to $2,500 - 1500 block of Diamond Creek Lane: At 2:09
p.m. an officer received a report of stolen circuit breakers from a
construction site. The property was valued at $2,200.00.
5/21 - Forgery - 5600 block of E. I-20: At 3:02 p.m. officers responded to
a theft report. A clerk at a business reported that a homeless male was attempting
to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. The bill was extremely worn but did react to a “money
pen” marker used to identify counterfeit bills. It is unknown where the male
obtained the bill. The merchandise was returned to the store and the male was
issued a criminal trespass warning at the request of company personnel.
5/21 - Hit and Run Accident - 700 block of Bowman Springs Road: At 5:41
p.m. officers responded to a hit and run accident. An unidentified dump truck
struck another vehicle in the rear and left the scene without stopping.
5/21 - Abandoned/ Found Property - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At
9:07 p.m. officers responded to a possible intoxicated person taking food. On
arrival the male suspect was located at a gas pump filling a 1999 Jeep. The
male stated that he did not take any food and had a receipt showing that he had
returned several hot dogs for refund. During the investigation it was
determined that the suspect was not intoxicated but was wanted for several
outstanding arrest warrants from Fort Worth. He was placed under arrest and
transported to jail for booking. During an inventory of the suspect’s vehicle,
he was found to possess several items from a retail store that had security
devices still attached and activated. Those items were placed in evidence to be
held.
5/22 - Theft $2,500 to $30,000 - 200 block of Valley Lane: At 12:22 p.m. a victim
reported to police that three unknown males came onto his property to steal an engine
part valued at $4,500.00. The suspects were in a Ford F150 truck. The theft was
captured on video at 4:20 a.m. that morning.
5/23 - Obstruction or Retaliation – 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 8:31
p.m. a female victim reported to police that the suspect that she filed a
sexual assault complaint against had threatened her. The suspect owed her money
and is refusing to pay the money back. The suspect made the threats to the victim
over the phone during a conversation.
5/24 - Forgery - 600 block of
N. Little School Road: At 10:40 a.m. an officer received a report for a forged
check. A business owner discovered that a check written on the business’s
account was altered for a higher amount and cashed.
5/24 - Theft $750 to $2,500 - 500 block of North Road: At 5:33 p.m. a
victim reported that his bicycle was stolen from school property at 12:00 p.m.
The male suspect was observed riding away by the victim, who could not stop
him. A friend later told the victim that the bike was observed at a known address.
The suspect was identified by a photo obtained on-line. An attempt by officers
to contact the suspect was unsuccessful.
5/25 - Theft $2,500 to $30,000 - 7000 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At
10:03 a.m. an officer received a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle, a
2005 Audi, was taken overnight from the parking lot of the business. The
vehicle did not run and would have to have been towed from the scene. The
vehicle was valued at $3,000.00.
5/25 - Hit and Run Accident - 6300 block of Tealcove Lane: At 3:09 p.m. a victim
reported to police that her 2014 Mitsubishi was struck in the parking lot of
her apartment complex. The damage occurred sometime after 11:00 p.m. the night
before.
5/25 - Assault Bodily Injury - 300 block of Spring Branch Lane: At 5:13
p.m. officers responded to a reported assault. A victim reported that he had
been assaulted by a male who was listed as a suspect in an earlier bicycle
theft. The victim could not give any description of the suspect other than his
name. The victim also stated that the suspect appeared intoxicated during the assault.
The suspect rode up on a bicycle while the officers were on scene. It was
determined that the victim and a friend had approached the suspect’s home
looking for him. The victim and his friend were carrying a metal tool. It was
determined that the suspect was at a local store during the time the assault
occurred and he did not appear to be intoxicated as earlier reported. The case
is still under investigation.
5/25 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 100 block of N.
Joplin Road: At 8:00 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic
disturbance. A male and female were arguing over child custody. The male was
loud and abusive toward officers and the female but the female stated that no
assault had occurred. The male was placed under arrest for a warrant out of
Parker County and was transported to jail for booking. Officers were later
notified by jail staff that the male had attempted to hang himself in his cell.
The male was picked up and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency
evaluation.
5/26 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 200 block of Pine Meadow
Drive: At 12:46 a.m. officers responded to a 911 hang-up call. It was
discovered that an adult male had gotten into an argument with his father and
the father’s girlfriend. During the argument the son became violent and struck
both of the victims. They displayed injuries consistent with their story. The
son was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
5/26 - Assault by Contact - 100 block of Peachtree Court: At 11:45 a.m. a
victim reported that she had been assaulted by her juvenile son. The assault
occurred during an argument the two were having about the juvenile cleaning up.
The juvenile was not at the location when officers arrived.
5/26 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 300 block of S. New Hope
Road: At 1:56 p.m. a victim reported that his adult son had assaulted him at
his (the victim’s) residence. The victim stated that the assault occurred after
the suspect became belligerent for an unknown reason. The suspect was located a
short distance away and was arrested. He was transported to jail for booking.
