8/13 - Driving While Intoxicated - 600 block of N. Dick Price Road: At 4:30
a.m. an officer responded to a report of a vehicle on the railroad tracks at
Dick Price Road. The 24 year old female driver appeared to have been drinking
heavily and drove onto the tracks before getting stuck. A Union Pacific train
had stopped before hitting the vehicle due to a stop switch activation caused
by the vehicle severing a cable. The driver was unable to successfully complete
a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. She was transported to
jail for booking and a voluntary blood draw.
8/14 - Theft $30,000 to $150,000 - 100 block of W. 5th Street: At
7:00 a.m. a victim reported that her 2011 Chevrolet had been taken by a known
suspect. The suspect was staying at the victim’s home while she was away but
did not have permission to use the vehicle.
8/14 - Incident - 800 block of Warwick Court: At 7:21 p.m. a resident
contacted police to report a missing firearm. The resident had placed a firearm
in his vehicle in a rear compartment in 2016. He reported that he checked to
see that it was still there from time to time. Six days earlier the resident
went to a gun range for practice. He discovered that his .40 caliber firearm
was missing and had been replaced by a 9mm of the same design and brand. His
.40 caliber weapon’s magazines and holster were still present. The 9mm did not
show as stolen and the resident had no idea how the weapons were changed out.
8/15 – Theft - $100 to $750 -
100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:35 p.m. an officer received a report of
a theft from Dollar General. An employee reported that a known female entered
the store and picked up several containers of laundry soap as well as clothing
sets. The suspect then ran out of the store and entered a gold Ford Expedition.
The vehicle left southbound toward Mansfield.
8/15 - Terroristic Threat - 1200 block of Sublett Road: On this date a
school resource officer was contacted about a potential threat of a handgun on
a bus. It was reported that on the day before a juvenile student had pulled
what appeared to be a handgun from a backpack during an altercation. The
incident was reported by an uninvolved student after the student got off at his
stop. After identifying the suspect, the school resource officer contacted his
family. It was determined that the handgun was actually a BB gun. The victim
reported during an interview that he was in fear for his life and did not
realize the gun was a toy. A case has been referred to the Tarrant County
juvenile court.
8/15 - Assault by Threat - 200 block of N. Dick Price Road: At 5:01 p.m. officers
responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female was threatening to harm a
family member. The female is supposed to be taking medication for a mental
health condition and had stopped taking the prescription. The female was
speaking incoherently and hallucinating. Due to these factors she was detained
and taken to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
8/16 - Possession of Marijuana - 900 block of Bowman Springs Road: At 7:11
p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle passenger
compartment smelled of marijuana. During the subsequent interview and search
the officer discovered marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest
and transported to jail for booking. The marijuana was placed in evidence.
8/16 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 100 block of N. Dick Price
Road: At 10:31 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and
female had gotten into an argument over the female getting intoxicated. The
female refused to leave the male’s residence. The female stated that the male
assaulted her and male claimed the same against the female. Based on the
injuries and the condition of the room where the altercation occurred, the
officers determined that the female was in fact the aggressor. She was arrested
for assault and transported to jail for booking.
8/17 - Abandoned Vehicle - 7200 block of Bloxom Park Road: At 9:00 a.m. an
officer was notified of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet
Malibu, was parked at the side of the roadway and in front of a fire hydrant.
The vehicle had been at the location since the previous week. It was towed and
impounded until an owner can be located.
8/17 - Aggravated Assault - 500 block of North Road: At 5:45 p.m. officers
responded to an assault. A male resident had gotten into an argument with his
adult grandson. During the argument the older male threatened the grandson with
harm by pulling a knife. The male was placed under arrest for assault and
transported to jail for booking.
8/17 - Incident - 100 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:03 p.m. an
officer received a complaint of a missing roll of lottery scratch-off tickets.
The business clerk wasn’t sure whether the tickets were actually delivered or
not but requested a report.
8/18 - Assault (Family Violence) – 800 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At
2:35 a.m. a female victim reported to police that she had been assaulted by her
husband. The couple was at an off-road campsite when the male began arguing
with the female and then assaulted her by pushing her to the ground, causing
injury. The female left and officers responded to the campsite to take the
suspect into custody. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
8/18 - Incident - 100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:46 p.m. officers
responded to an investigation of a male selling narcotics. The male was located
and interviewed by the officers. The male was found to be in possession of a
syringe loaded with heroin. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail
for booking.
