8/26 - Aggravated Robbery - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:56
a.m. officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress. A male suspect
had entered a convenience store and threatened to shoot the employees. He demanded
cash and then ran south toward Link Street. The suspect entered a waiting
vehicle driven by a second suspect and left the scene. During the robbery the
suspect had taken an employee’s cell phone and tossed it away near where the
getaway vehicle was parked. The phone was collected for fingerprinting. A
witness was able to describe the suspect and vehicle used in the offense.
8/26 - Abandoned/ Found Property - 100 block of Oakwood Lane: At 11:11 a.m.
an officer responded to a found property call. A male juvenile had found a set
of keys on the ground. The juvenile stated that an adult resident of a nearby
house stated that he thought the keys might belong to a friend of his and took
possession of the keys. The officer made contact with the adult male and found
that he could not provide any information as to why he thought the keys were
his friend’s property. The officer was able to get the friend’s name and phone
number. A call to the subject revealed he was not missing any keys. The keys
were then placed in property until an owner can be located.
8/26 - Assault by Contact - 700 block of Woodland Court: At 9:19 p.m.
officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female stated that her adult
son had grabbed her phone in order to prevent her from calling 911 when he
became threatening during an argument. After further investigation officers
determined that the son did commit assault by contact. He was placed under
arrest and transported to jail for booking.
8/27 - Driving While Intoxicated w/ Child - 5200 block of Mansfield
Highway: An officer stopped a vehicle for investigation of DWI. The adult male
driver had been drinking and was unable to successfully complete a field
sobriety assessment. The driver also had an adult female and three under-age children
in the car. The female stated that she tried to get the suspect to let her
drive but he refused. The suspect was arrested and transported to Mansfield
Methodist Hospital for a blood draw. After the blood draw the suspect was
transported to jail for booking. He was charged with DWI with a child under 15.
8/27 - Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 - 5600 block of E. IH 20: At 7:27
a.m. an officer responded to a burglary. A business employee reporting for work
found the glass broken out in the back door. Nothing appeared to be missing.
8/28 - Terroristic Threat of Family/ Household Member - 700 block of W.
Kennedale Parkway: At 1:45 p.m. a victim contacted police to report that an
immediate family member had made threats to harm her and her children. The
threats stemmed from the fact that the victim evicted the suspect from her
property. The suspect was not present when officers were on scene.
8/27 - Assault Bodily Injury - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:20
p.m. a victim reported that she had been assaulted by a 15 year old female
suspect. The victim reported that the suspect plays on a sports team with the
victim’s daughter. After the game was over the victim walked toward her
daughter. The suspect approached the victim and bumped her with a shoulder.
When the victim expressed displeasure with the action the suspect struck the
victim’s face with a closed fist. The suspect was not present at the time of the
report.
8/29 - Theft Under $100 - 300 block of Autumnwood Court: At 12:19 p.m. a
victim reported that unknown person(s) had used his identity in an attempt to
open a credit account. The victim stated that he believes the suspect(s) may
have obtained his identity information by stealing outgoing mail from his home
mailbox.
8/29 - Abandoned/ Found Property - 1100 block of Falcon View Drive: At
12:51 p.m. a resident contacted police to report that he found a wallet on his
property. The wallet had identifying information for the owner but he could not
be contacted. The wallet was placed in property for safe keeping.
8/31 - Possession Control Substance - 5300 block of E. Hwy 287 Service
Road: At 3:48 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The
adult male driver was wanted on a probation violation warrant and was arrested.
During an inventory of the vehicle a jar was located that contained marijuana.
Officers then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located a bag
of cocaine in a candy bag that the suspect had been holding earlier. He was
transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.
8/30 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 100 block of Briarwood Road:
At 8:08 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female was
crying when officers arrived and stated that her adult male cousin has assaulted
her during an argument. The victim refused to fill out a statement and did not
want the suspect to get into trouble. The suspect had left with his girlfriend
after the assault. Officers cleared but were called back to the residence at
9:27 p.m. The suspect had returned and the argument resumed. Neither of the
parties involved would sign statements and no one wanted to prosecute the
other. The suspect left the residence again to calm the situation.
