9/16 - Hit and Run Accident - 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue: At 3:15
a.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A resident reported that
his brick mailbox had been struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
Based on evidence at the scene the officer believes that the vehicle could
belong to a suspect in a DWI earlier in the shift. The suspect was arrested in
a vehicle that had damage similar to what would have been done in striking the
mailbox.
9/16 - Driving While Intoxicated - 4300 block of Dick Price Road: At 2:20
a.m. an officer stopped a 2017 Ford truck for an equipment violation. The
driver of the vehicle, an adult male, appeared to have been drinking and was
unable to successfully pas a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested and
transported to jail for booking. A warrant for a mandatory blood draw was
obtained and the sample was taken by medical personnel. The vehicle had damage consistent
with a hit and run accident reported later in the shift.
9/16 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 800 block of Woodland
Court: At 9:48 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female
victim reported that her adult boyfriend had assaulted her after a prolonged
argument spanning several hours. The suspect was reported to have struck the
victim and choked her several times. The victim did have injuries consistent
with an assault. The victim gathered personal items and left to stay at another
residence.
9/17 - Hit and Run Accident - 800 block of Shady Creek Drive: At 8:37 a.m.
a victim reported that her 2014 Chevrolet 4 door was parked at the curb. When
the victim came out to the vehicle to drive away it was discovered that an
unknown vehicle had struck the driver side rear door. The door had a white
scrape mark on it.
9/17 - Injury to a Child/ Elderly/ Disabled (Bodily Injury) - 800 block of
Woodland Court: At 8:27 a.m. a school resource officer received a report from school
faculty of a possible child abuse victim. A juvenile student had reported being
assaulted by a parent. The juvenile explained to the officer what occurred and
displayed injuries consistent with the story. A report was made to CPS, who
also responded to the school to assist in the investigation.
9/19 - Abandoned/ Found Property - 200 block of S. New Hope Road: At 10:04
a.m. a resident reported finding a credit card at a city park. The card was
traced to a former Kennedale resident but contact could not be made. The card
was placed in property for safe keeping.
9/19 – Vehicle Burglary - 400 block of Lone Oak Court: At 10:00
a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered her possibly
unsecured vehicle and removed her purse. The offense occurred between 3:00 p.m.
and 7:00 a.m. the next morning.
9/20 - Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 - 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway:
At 7:35 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown damaged the windshield on
her 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. The offense happened overnight.
9/20 - Fraud Use/ Possession of Identifying Info - 700 block of W.
Kennedale Parkway: At 8:05 p.m. a victim reported that she had possibly been
scammed by an unknown male and female. The victim stated that a male came to
her residence and requested to change her electric utility provider. The victim
provided personal information to the male and a female called later to verify
the information. After deciding not to change, the victim contacted her
provider and was told to contact police. A neighbor was approached by the same
person but was suspicious. The neighbor provided police with photos of the
suspects and vehicle.
9/21 - Assault by Contact - 4300 block of S. Eden Road: At 6:39 p.m. an
officer received a report of an assault by contact. A male victim stated that
he had a disagreement with a neighboring business owner. The neighbor became angry
and spit on the victim. The suspect then left and went back to his business.
The suspect was contacted and issued a citation for assault by contact.
9/22 - Flooded Vehicle - 5400 block of Sublett Road: At 12:25 a.m. officers
responded to a motorist assist. A female driver was stranded in high water. The
officers assisted the female in getting to safety.
9/22 - Possession of Marijuana - 1000 block of Falcon Creek Road: At 6:43
p.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Three males were parked
in a residential area in a gray Nissan. Officers could smell marijuana inside
of the vehicle as they approached. Two of the three male occupants were found
to be in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia. They were arrested
and transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.
