10/1 - Assault by Contact - 100
block of Briarwood Road: At 10:58 p.m. a victim contacted police to report that
her boyfriend had assaulted her. The victim reported that the boyfriend came
home and appeared to be intoxicated. As the victim was attempting to get ready
for bed the suspect pinched her multiple times on the legs, which angered the victim.
When the suspect could not get a response from the victim, he damaged a door by
punching it and left the residence. The victim gave a possible address in
Denton County that the suspect might be going to. A handgun was also missing from
the residence. Denton County law enforcement was notified of the suspect and a vehicle
description. The suspect will be charged with assault by contact.
10/1 - Abandoned Vehicle - 800 block of Trent Street: At 8:44 p.m. officers
responded to an abandoned vehicle in the roadway. The vehicle was found
abandoned in an intersection and had sustained front end damage. A male was
walking away from the scene and was detained. After several minutes of not
responding to questions, the male finally admitted to being in the vehicle. The
vehicle owner was not at the scene but had been driving when he rear-ended a
second vehicle. The second vehicle was not present at the scene. The vehicle
was abandoned and all of the occupants scattered. The male was determined not
to be involved in any criminal activity and gave a statement to officers about
what occurred. He was released. The vehicle was impounded to be held until the
owner can be contacted.
10/2 - Forgery Financial Instrument - 200 block of S. Dick Price Road: At
8:30 a.m. a victim reported to police that an unknown person or persons had
forged checks on his account. The checks were deposited into an account that
was created on-line. The case is still under investigation.
10/2 - Forgery Financial Instrument - 400 block of Municipal Drive: At 3:00
p.m. a victim reported that her debit card was stolen from her boyfriend by an
unknown male. Several fraudulent purchases had been made with the card. A possible
suspect was identified by the victim’s mother.
10/3 - Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle - 6000 block of E. Loop 820: At
4:35 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle parked in a restaurant parking lot. A
check of the license plate showed the vehicle to be reported stolen from North
Richland Hills. A male and female exited the building and entered the vehicle,
a 2005 Toyota truck. Upon being stopped, the driver and his female passenger
were detained. The driver was found to be wanted on a narcotics possession
warrant from Tarrant County S.O. He was arrested for the warrant and for the
unauthorized use of the vehicle after it was confirmed as stolen. He was
transported to jail for booking.
10/5 - Assault Bodily Injury - 500 block of North Road: At 3:42 p.m. a
victim contacted police to report that she had been assaulted. The victim at
first refused to allow police to come to her home. After finally allowing
officers to come to her home, the victim reported that she had been assaulted
by a family member of her next door neighbor. The assault was alleged to be
over a note that the victim left on the neighbor’s property. The victim reported
that the suspect pushed her to the ground, causing a shoulder injury. The
suspect was identified and interviewed by an officer. The suspect stated that
she went to the victim’s home to ask if she knew who had left the note. The
victim admitted to leaving the note and then became aggressive toward the
suspect. The suspect put her hands out to prevent the victim from physically
contacting her and then left. The suspect stated that there was no shoving or
pushing anyone to the ground. The victim was contacted again but her mental
condition appeared to be deteriorating. The officer asked the victim for a
statement but the victim refused and became uncooperative. The victim stated
that she would contact police at a later date to do a statement.
10/5 - Incident (other) - 6900 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 2:00
p.m. officers responded to a request from Grand Prairie police to locate a
missing 16 year old female. The female was supposed to be at a mobile home residence.
The missing female was located at the residence, which was occupied by a number
of family members including the female’s grandparents. Grand Prairie police
were notified that the female had been located and she was reported as
recovered.
10/6 - Driving While Intoxicated - 700 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At
3:43 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, an adult male,
appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to successfully complete a field
sobriety assessment. He was arrested for the DWI and transported to jail for testing
and booking.
10/6 - Abandoned Vehicle - 100 block of Peachtree Court: At 1:00 p.m. an
officer responded to a reported abandoned vehicle. The vehicle, which was
illegally parked but was not a hazard to traffic, had been tagged with a 48
hour removal sticker on 10-04-2018. The vehicle was removed and impounded for
storage.
