3/3 - Possession Marijuana - 1000 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:00
p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an expired license plate registration. On
approaching the vehicle the officer could smell the odor of marijuana emitting
from inside the vehicle. The adult male driver stated that there was marijuana
in the vehicle, which the officers located. The driver was placed under arrest
for the marijuana and transported to jail for booking. A female passenger was
released at the scene.
3/3 - Assault by Contact - 1400 block of Derby Drive: At 1:00 p.m.
officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Two juvenile brothers had gotten
into an argument when one of the brothers struck the other. The suspect was
cited for the assault. The suspect and victim were left in the custody of their
parents.
3/4 - Possession Marijuana - 100 block of N. Kenney Street: At 4:32 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. An odor of marijuana was observed coning from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. During the interview of the adult male driver officers discovered marijuana and related paraphernalia in a container. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.
3/4 - Criminal Mischief Under $100 - 100 block of Briarwood Road: At 11:42
p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. On arrival a male resident
stated that a female family member had arrived demanding entry into the
residence. When she was not allowed entry, the female walked around the male’s
car and then left. The male discovered that the female had cut one of the tires
on his vehicle.
3/5 - Evading Arrest or Detention w/ Vehicle - 400 block of E. Kennedale
Parkway: At 11:56 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic
manner. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to
stop. The vehicle finally left Kennedale on Bowman Springs Road without
stopping. Arlington P.D. was notified and was able to locate and stop the vehicle
at a residence in Arlington. Arlington officers requested the Kennedale officer
to respond to the stop. The suspect was being charged with DWI and Arlington
requested that Kennedale file the Evading Arrest or Detention charge.
3/6 - Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) - 600 block of Reeves Lane:
At 1:25 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult son had gotten
into an argument with his parents. In an attempt to get the son out of the
room, the mother shut the door on the son, causing it to hit him in the head.
The mother was taken into custody for the alleged assault.
3/6 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 100 block of
Joplin Road: At 6:05 p.m. officers responded to a report of a 12 year old
female threatening to harm herself. The female admitted to posting the threat
on social media and it was determined that she was a danger to herself. She was
transported to Cook Children’s Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation.
3/7 - Possession Drug Paraphernalia - 900
block of Wildcat Way: On this date the high school resource officer was asked
to assist with a male student who was accused of using marijuana. The officer
could smell the narcotic emanating from the student’s person. He was found to
be in possession of a rolled up bag containing trace amounts of marijuana. The
student was cited and turned over to the school staff.
3/8 - Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle - 400 block of Mansfield Cardinal
Road: At 12:30 p.m. an officer received a report of a missing vehicle. A female
victim reported that a suspect, who she was involved with at one time, had
taken the vehicle without consent. The suspect was staying at the victim’s home
and agreed to repair the vehicle. At some point during the repair the suspect
took the vehicle and left.
3/8 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 1200 block of
Elmbrook Drive: At 7:53 p.m. officers responded to a report of an emotionally
disturbed person. A resident stated that his adult son was hallucinating and
had delusions about criminal violations that were not occurring. The officers determined
that the son needed an emergency mental evaluation and he was taken into custody
for transport to JPS Hospital.
3/8 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info - 400 block of Fountain
Court: At 4:40 p.m. a victim reported that she had discovered numerous accounts
opened in her name at various banking institutions. In addition, the suspect(s)
contacted the Post Office and had the victim’s mail rerouted. The victim was
able to close the accounts that she was aware of and corrected the mail
situation.
