10/21 — Incident
100 block of Oakwood Lane
At 4:49 p.m. a complainant contacted police to report finding an envelope on her porch that contained a substance believed to be marijuana and a pipe. The contraband was removed and placed in evidence. 

10/21 — Animal Bite
400 block of Crestview Drive
On this date, officers responded to a dog bite report. An 11-year-old male was bitten by an unknown dog that was then removed by the owner before police arrived. Witnesses were available for statements and the owner and animal were located.

10/22 — Accident Involving Injury
1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 7:42 p.m. officers responded to a report of an auto/pedestrian accident. An adult male reported that he was legally crossing in a crosswalk when a grey passenger vehicle turned onto Kennedale Parkway at the red light and struck him. The victim only received minor injuries. He was treated at the scene and released. The case is under investigation.

10/22 — Identity Theft
1400 block of Swiney Hiett Road
At 3:27 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) hacked his cell phone and used his information to purchase a laptop that was shipped to another state. The police having jurisdiction for the purchase and shipment requested that the victim file an identity theft report with his home town police department in order for them to open an investigation. 

10/23 — Incident
1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 8:50 a.m. officers responded to a report of a missing 13-year-old male. An adult male on the scene, identified as the missing teen’s father, stated that he went into a store to pay for fuel and on his return to the vehicle, the teen was missing. Extra officers responded and began looking for the missing person, who was described as being a special needs child, while detectives interviewed the father. During the interview, the father seemed at times to be confused and unsure of simple facts. A medic unit was requested to respond. Officer located a contact number for the adult male’s spouse, who stated that he was possibly having a diabetic episode as he had skipped breakfast that morning. The spouse also informed officers that the son was actually 27 years old and had been dropped off earlier for a van pool to his job. The reporting male was released to the spouse when she responded to the scene. 

10/23 — Abandoned/Found Property
400 block of Municipal Drive
At 10:50 a.m. a Kennedale Parks employee brought a bicycle to the police department. The bike was found abandoned at a city park. It was placed in property to be held pending the location of an owner. 

10/23 — Theft Under $100
200 block of S. New Hope Road
At 2:40 p.m. a victim reported to police that unknown person(s) had stolen medication from her. The items were in a bag in her bedroom. 

10/24 — Criminal Mischief $100 to $750
900 block of Sunrise Drive
At 11:14 a.m. officers received a report of a broken window on a home. The victim believes that the damage was caused by a known suspect who was observed approaching the home on security video. 

10/23 — Assault by Contact
300 block of 4th Street
At 9:53 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and female had been arguing when the female threw an item at the male, causing a small injury on his lip. The female was issued a citation for the offense and departed with family members. 

10/25 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
700 block of Woodland Court
At 3:36 p.m. officers responded to a report of noise outside of a residence. The complainant on this call had placed several other calls during the shift. The caller is known to officers as former military and suffers from PTSD. Officers were able to speak to the caller and calm him down. Officers were later called again to the residence but this time the caller answered the door with a hammer and two knives. After disarming the caller, it was decided that he should be transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation and detention. He was transported without incident. 

10/25 — Assault by Contact
200 block of S. New Hope Road
At 12:27 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and a female were on the scene. The male appeared to be erratic and emotional. He reported being given a narcotic earlier and was having a reaction. He stated that he fell asleep in his vehicle and awoke with the female on his legs. He lashed out at her as it surprised him. The female, who stated she was the male’s girlfriend, stated that the male struck her but that it was not intentional. The male was found to have multiple arrest warrants out of three cities. He was placed in custody and transported to jail for booking. He was also issued a citation for the assault by contact. 

10/26 — Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)
1000 block of Estates Drive
At 7:44 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male suspect and female victim were arguing over a cell phone when the suspect assaulted the victim, causing an abrasion to her head. The suspect also assaulted another male, the suspect’s brother, who tried to intervene and stop the assault. The suspect briefly fought with officers before being taken into custody for transport to jail.
