Police Reports

2/10 — Tamper with Identification Numbers (Personal Property)
700 block of E. Kennedale Parkway
On this date investigators from the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force conducted an inspection on an auto repair shop. Investigators located a 1956 Chevrolet truck with what appeared to be an altered VIN number. It was determined that the vehicle was alleged to have been stolen in Dallas in 1984 and was possibly recovered in 1988. Due to the age of the case, the file was not readily available in Dallas and will have to be retrieved manually. The vehicle currently shows as inactive in the state database. A male was located who claims to be the current owner of the vehicle since 2000. He provided a title to the investigators. The vehicle was towed to the task force impound lot until the proper ownership and vehicle status can be confirmed.

At 12:20 p.m. an officer was repairing an issue with the video system in a patrol unit. A wallet was located in a side door compartment. 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 5:14 p.m. officers were dispatched to an investigation. A male special needs patient was reported to have escaped from his caretaker and was running on foot towards I-20. The patient was picked up by Forest Hill police and brought to the Kennedale location he had left form. After an interview, it was determined that the male needed emergency detention and mental evaluation. He was transported to JPS Hospital.

At 2:30 p.m. a school resource officer was informed of an incident involving a firework being set off in the athletics area. The officer was able to access the security video of the incident. 2/15 — Assault (Bodily Injury)
1100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 4:40 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. A female suspect was on scene and was reported to have assaulted an employee of the business. The suspect was reported to be upset that the business could not process her order for food as their credit card system was down. The suspect was reported to have picked up an item from the counter, striking the employee with it.
