Mayor’s Declaration of Public Health Emergency and Special City Council Meeting*

Friday, March 20, Mayor Brian Johnson enacted a Declaration of Public Health Emergency for the City of Kennedale, effective at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020. View this document and the attached "Recommendations for Mitigating the Spread of COVID-19" at cityofkennedale.com/mayordeclaration

Sunday, March 22,  the Mayor amended that declaration by expanding restrictions. In response, City Manager George Campbell has announced the closure of City Hall (405 Municipal Drive) to the public and will minimize on-site staffing, effective Monday, March 23, 2020.

The City Council will hold a special meeting via teleconference at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2020, to consider, among other items, the extension of this amended declaration. Members of the public can join the meeting by calling 1-877-568-4106 (toll-free) and entering access code 162-956-797. The agenda and packet are published at cityofkennedale.com/agendas.

KPD Social Distancing Efforts

In an effort to minimize the potential of virus exposure for our officers and the community that we serve, dispatch is currently screening non-emergency calls to determine if a report can be completed over the phone. As a reminder, anytime you wish to speak with an officer or report a non-emergency incident (including animal control issues), please call dispatch at 817-478-5416. This call may be answered as if you had called 9-1-1. Please do not hang up.
