5/17 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
500 block of North Road
At 6:31 p.m. officers responded to a call about an emotionally disturbed person. An adult male was armed with a knife and threatening self-harm. On arrival, the officers made contact with the male and disarmed him. During an interview, the male made several statements to indicate that he was dealing with several emotional issues. The male also exhibited severe mood swings during the interview. He was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
5/17 — Drugs/Narcotics
1000 block of Kennedale Sublett Road
At 4:25 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Subsequent to an interview and a consent search of the vehicle, officers discovered marijuana as well as multiple tablets of MDMA (Ecstasy) inside of the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for the narcotics. He was transported to jail for booking.
5/17 — Abandoned Vehicle
1200 block of River Rock Drive
At 6:19 p.m. an officer observed an abandoned vehicle that had been tagged by another officer several days earlier. The vehicle was removed from the roadway and impounded.
5/18 — Public Intoxication/Alcohol
100 block of N. Dick Price Road
At 1:27 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. An intoxicated female was located and detained during the investigation. A resident advised that the female was dropped off at the residence by an unknown person. The female, who is known to the homeowner, had entered the residence without invitation and caused a disturbance. The female was issued a criminal trespass warning and placed under arrest for public intoxication. She briefly became combative with officers during the arrest but was secured in a patrol unit. She was transported to jail for booking.
5/18 — Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle
1100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 10:00 p.m. an officer observed a parked vehicle with an open door behind a business. A male was asleep in the passenger seat. Dispatched advised that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Austin on May 7th. The male was detained and, after the vehicle’s stolen status was confirmed, was arrested. The vehicle was impounded and the male was transported to jail for booking.
5/19 — Drugs/Narcotics
500 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 6:58 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interview, the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and pills that were suspected of being Ecstacy. Since lab results would be required for a probable cause finding in order to bring charges, the driver was released pending further investigation.
5/20 — Drugs/Narcotics
300 block of Bowles Court
At 1:42 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The female driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking.
5/19 — Theft $2,500 to $30,000
7200 block of E. IH 20
At 8:30 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) had stolen construction equipment from a job site.
5/21 — Fraud Use/Possession of Identifying Items
200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 9:30 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver had arrest warrants issued out of Arlington and Tarrant County. The driver was also in possession of stolen identification and credit cards. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.
5/21 — Theft Under $100
1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 2:18 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress. A male suspect had entered the business and attempted to steal three cases of beer. An employee observed the theft and took two of the cases but the suspect fled with the third. The employee provided a vehicle description and license plate.
