3/21 — Drugs/Narcotics
700 block of Shady Lane
At 3:33 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, had multiple arrest warrants from multiple cities. During the interview the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, scales, and a fully loaded 9mm handgun. The driver was arrested for the contraband and was transported to jail for booking.
3/21 — Abandoned/Found Property
300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway
At 11:10 a.m. a citizen brought a set of keys to the police department. The keys were found at a local car wash but the owner was not on the property at the time they were found. The keys were placed in the property room for safekeeping.
3/22 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
600 block of Hillside Drive
At 3:11 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed person. An adult male child was at his parents’ home, threatening to damage the home. The son threatened to kill himself if the police were called. Officers arriving on the scene were able to determine that the son presented a danger to himself and others. He was detained for transport to JPS Hospital on an emergency mental detention and evaluation.
3/22 — Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info
400 block of Fountain Court
At 5:36 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) used his identity to apply for unemployment benefits. The victim reported that he is currently employed and did not make the application.
3/23 — Deadly Conduct (Discharge Firearm)
500 block of 3rd Street
At 11:32 a.m. officers responded to a report of shots fired. A homeowner reported that he heard a gunshot and realized that a bullet had lodged in the wood trim of a bedroom doorway. Investigating officers were able to identify the source of the shot. A resident in a home across the street had slung a rifle over her shoulder to move it when the firearm discharged. Due to the accidental nature of the gunshot, the victim did not wish to pursue charges,
3/26 — Missing Person (Juvenile)
900 block of Wildcat Way
At 4:22 p.m. a foster parent reported a 17-year-old foster son as missing. The son left school during lunch and has not been seen since.
3/26 — Computer Security Breach
600 block of Bluebonnet Lane
At 10:32 a.m. a victim reported that he received a text related to a reported purchase that he didn’t make. When the victim attempted to contact the sender through the provided link, his phone and computer were hacked. Unknown person(s) removed money from the victim’s bank account.
3/26 — Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info
200 block of Ruth Court
At 4:37 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) used her identity to file for unemployment benefits. The victim is currently employed and has no idea who made the application.
