01/14 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 8:09 p.m. an officer made a traffic stop on a blue Dodge pickup for expired registration. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer smelled the odor of marijuana. The driver, a 55 year old male, told the officer he had just smoked some of the drug. During the stop the officer located paraphernalia on the driver's person. He was cited for the paraphernalia and for failing to maintain financial responsibility.
01/15 - Theft $1,500 to $20,000 - 700 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 12:10 p.m. an officer took a report of a stolen battery jump box. The complainant stated that he had seen the suspect leaving as he (the complainant) was entering the property but didn't know about the theft until later. The item is valued at $1,600.
01/17 - Criminal Trespass - 200 block of Kennedale New Hope Road: At 1:01 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. As officers arrived, the reported suspect was walking away from the residence. The suspect, a male, stated that he had gone to the residence to see his girlfriend. The residents stated that the suspect had been on the property, banging on the door and shouting obscenities. The suspect had numerous criminal trespass warnings on file at the police department. The suspect was arrested for trespassing and booked into the municipal jail.
01/18 - Burglary of a Building - 1100 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 7:33 a.m. an officer took a report on unknown suspect(s) entering a building without permission and removing $3000 in copper welding cables.
01/18 - Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information: At 11:48 a.m. an officer took a report for identity theft. The victim told police that someone had called on the phone stating that they were from the victim's bank. The caller wanted to verify some information. The victim had recently applied for new debit cards at their bank and thought the call was legitimate. The caller obtained identifying information including Social Security numbers. The victim began noticing charges on her card that were not hers. After contacting her bank, the victim was informed that the caller was not their employee. The victim then came to the police department to file a report.
01/19 - Demented Person - 200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 10:55 p.m. officers responded to a complaint at a local business. A known female was locked in the bathroom and was alleging that her husband had assualted her. The female and her husband live several blocks away from the location. Both subjects have had past instances of MHMR issues. The female had no injuries indicating that she had been assaulted. No action was taken.
